The Torada Collective refers to a group of artists from Naboo that was active as of 22 BBY, which marks the start of the Clone Wars. The reasons for joining this collective varied among its members; some sought greater financial success and fame than they believed was possible on their home planet, others held political views not reflected in Naboo's legislature, and still others simply desired to defy their families. While the Torada Collective maintained several secluded estates on Naboo for peaceful living and working, its members frequently journeyed to other worlds. After the outbreak of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, five members found themselves stranded within Separatist-controlled territory. Their parents then appealed to Queen Jamillia for help in their repatriation. Mindful of appearing biased toward any specific group, given the widespread presence of Naboo citizens throughout the galaxy, Jamillia tasked Senator Padmé Amidala with their rescue, accompanied by her Jedi protector, Anakin Skywalker. Despite her impending marriage to Skywalker later that day, Amidala accepted the mission. Upon reaching Nooroyo to extract the Torada Collective members, Skywalker and Amidala managed to bring only one of them, Antraya, who was also Jamillia's sister, back to Naboo.
