The news organization known as TriNebulon News, often shortened to TriNeb, was an active media outlet during both the Republic Era and the subsequent Imperial Era.
During the time of the Republic, TriNeb covered Padmé Amidala's rise to prominence in the Galactic Senate. An article titled "FASHION-PLATE QUEEN RETURNS TO SENATE" offered some positive remarks but was largely critical. It implied that her earlier address to the Senate, given four years prior, was ghostwritten due to her youth, and that despite her apparent independence, she remained influenced by others. Throughout her tenure, TriNeb consistently portrayed her negatively, and she eventually discovered their allegiance to the Trade Federation.
TriNeb reported on numerous significant events, such as the Ryloth Insurgency, the destruction of Jedha City, and the Battle of Yavin. These events were presented through the lens of Imperial propaganda. The destruction of the Death Star during the Battle of Yavin was framed as a dastardly rebel assault on peaceful troops stationed on a space station in orbit. Following the Galactic Civil War, when the First Order emerged as a major power years later, TriNeb became a vocal supporter, possibly the only news source to do so.
TriNebulon News made its initial appearance in Star Wars canon within the 2018 reference volume, Star Wars: The Rebel Files. Prior to this, it debuted in the 1993 Star Wars Legends Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game supplement, Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim.
