Truuine, a waterworld planet situated in the Inner Rim, was characterized by an equatorial island belt and a polar region marked by mountains and glaciers. The Truuine Jedi Praxeum, a training center founded by Jedi Master Mroon Jassa, was established on this planet by 4000 BBY. It was around this time that Kith Kark, a Gotal, journeyed to Truuine, met Jassa, and subsequently began his Jedi studies at the Praxeum. Millennia afterwards, during the reign of the Galactic Empire, the islands of Truuine were inhabited by settlers belonging to the Karkarodon and Patrolian races.
The planet Truuine was the sole celestial body in the Truuine system. It orbited at least one sun and was considered part of both the Inner Rim and the Slice regions. From 5000 BBY to 3996 BBY, Truuine was positioned along a hyperlane connecting it to the Antar and Manaan systems.
An ocean covered Truuine's surface, interrupted at the equator by a chain of islands. Furthermore, the planet's northern polar area contained mountains and glaciers, with the latter constantly producing icebergs that drifted into the ocean. The fish were among the wildlife found on Truuine.
By 5000 BBY, Truuine was well within the area explored by the Galactic Republic. Jedi Master Mroon Jassa established a Jedi Praxeum on the planet several decades prior to 3998 BBY.

By 4001 BBY, a group of Jedi apprentices made their way to the planet to commence their training under Jassa's guidance. Shortly after their arrival, the trainees encountered Kith Kark, a Gotal who was visiting Truuine for sightseeing. The group of apprentices, along with Kark, then journeyed to Jassa's training compound. While the Jedi Master welcomed the students, he refused to train Kark as a Jedi.
Offended, Kark departed from Truuine, only to return a year later after extensively studying Jedi texts and documents. However, Jassa once again turned down the Gotal. Kark left Truuine for the second time, and spent the following year trying to discern what he had missed in his studies that had led Jassa to reject him. Eventually, the Gotal came to the realization that his mistake had been viewing the studying and use of the Force as a vocation, rather than a duty.
Returning to Truuine once more, Kark used his newfound understanding to finally convince Jassa that he was prepared to begin Jedi training. The Gotal trainee studied on Truuine for a year until Jassa was summoned away on an assignment, prompting Kark and the other apprentices of the Praxeum to depart in order to complete their training on Ossus, a planet in the Outer Rim Territories.
Sometime following the establishment of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, Amara, an information broker, referenced Truuine on a private shadowfeed. While the feed dismissed Kark's experiences on Truuine as a Jedi parable, it conceded the possibility that Jassa's Jedi Praxeum might have been a historical reality.
By the time of the Galactic Empire's reign, colonists of the sentient Karkarodon and Patrolian species had established settlements on Truuine's equatorial islands. Disputes over fishing and trading rights between the two settler groups escalated into a violent conflict, causing several spacers to avoid visiting Truuine.
Truuine was initially mentioned in the 1996 Tales of the Jedi Companion, a roleplaying game sourcebook written by George R. Strayton and published by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Truuine system, and consequently the planet Truuine, within grid square O-11.
