Kylo Ren, a Force warrior aiming to extract knowledge about the location of the missing Jedi Master Luke Skywalker from Lor San Tekka, one of the Tuanul residents, spearheaded this assault. Following the capture of Poe Dameron, a Resistance pilot, the stormtroopers—excluding FN-2187—executed the inhabitants as per Ren's directives.
