Unidentified aiwha pod

A group of aiwha, originating from the oceans surrounding Kamino, were journeying south. This pod, as described in local lore, was intercepted by the god-beast known as Protas. Protas prevented them from continuing their migration towards the cold winter regions. Instead of allowing the aiwha to proceed, Protas forced them back north to their eventual demise, thus initiating a conflict. Despite drawing blood from Protas, the god-beast withstood their attacks. Eventually, Protas inadvertently revealed his weak neck, giving an individual aiwha an opportunity to strike. Protas, in his agony, killed the attacking aiwha, but this sacrifice allowed the remaining members of the group to concentrate their efforts and deliver the final, lethal blow to Protas.

Description

The pod was made up of aiwha (pictured).

The story of "The Tale of the Aiwha Pod," a Kaminoan group's legend, tells of an aiwha pod residing in the oceans of the planet Kamino. This tale was translated from Kaminoan into Galactic Basic by Ryan Kaufman. As the cold winter approached, the aiwha would migrate south to find warmer waters. This pod was known for its ferocity, unity, and determination in battle. They respected others, did not seek glory in battle, and were greatly respected by all beasts of the oceans, regardless of size, strength, or numbers.

History

The legend recounts that as the pod journeyed south to escape the increasingly cold winter, they encountered the god-beast Protas. Protas, having grown arrogant in his old age following his victory over the dark titan Melkorr and the sentient legion kikla, decided to block their path. He commanded them to turn back north, essentially condemning them to death. The pod questioned Protas' motive for desiring their demise. Protas simply stated that it would please him, leaving the pod with no alternative but to fight. They launched a sudden assault on Protas. Like Melkorr, they tore at his flesh, drawing blood but failing to inflict any significant wounds. They also swarmed him like the kikla swimmers, displaying a unity and determination that the kikla lacked. However, Protas endured their attacks.

Eventually, Protas exposed his vulnerable neck, creating an opening in his defenses. A single aiwha, disregarding its own safety, seized the opportunity and bit down on the exposed flesh. Protas roared in pain and thrashed his fins, attempting to dislodge the attacking aiwha. Although the self-sacrificing aiwha was fatally wounded, it maintained its grip on Protas' neck, allowing the rest of the pod to rally and deliver the final, fatal blow. Both the aiwha and Protas perished, staining the waters with their blood. Following their victory, the aiwha became the rulers of Kamino's oceans and were highly respected for their victory without seeking glory.
