Unidentified Galactic Republic captain

A female Human from the Galactic Republic held the rank of captain within the Judicial Forces. Back in 44 BBY, she piloted a Consular-class cruiser, transporting Republic delegates to Troiken for negotiations with the Stark Commercial Combine. However, these talks were cut short by a Combine assault, triggering the Stark Hyperspace War. The Republic delegation retreated to the cruiser, which the captain attempted to pilot to safety. Unfortunately, the ship sustained significant damage and exploded shortly after landing near Republic troops at Mount Avos. The captain suffered injuries and was in recovery as the battles against the Stark forces raged on. Eventually, the Jedi members of the delegation devised a plan to return to the Republic capital, Coruscant, to seek assistance from the Senate. At a spaceport on Troiken, the Jedi seized the Quicksilver, the personal vessel of the Combine's leader, Iaco Stark, with the captain at the controls, bound for Coruscant. While transporting the Jedi Adi Gallia and Senators Finis Valorum and Nute Gunray, the captain met her death due to an electric shock from a booby trap that Stark had rigged.

Biography

Aggressive negotiations

Within the Galactic Republic's Judicial Forces, a Human female served as a captain. In 44 BBY, she piloted a Consular-class cruiser, carrying a Republic delegation to the planet of Troiken. Their mission was to negotiate with the Stark Commercial Combine, who were attacking transports carrying the valuable healing substance bacta, which was becoming scarce. Among the delegation were Senator Finis Valorum, and Jedi such as Tyvokka, Adi Gallia, Plo Koon, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Nute Gunray, a Senator from the Trade Federation, also attended, arriving separately on his own shuttle accompanied by a contingent of HKB-3 hunter-killer droids.

The captain and Qui-Gon Jinn

The negotiations came to an abrupt halt when Iaco Stark, the Combine's leader, launched an attack on the delegation. He also used a navigation computer virus to sabotage the Republic fleet, which was led by the rogue Senator and Militarist, Ranulph Tarkin, thus beginning the Stark Hyperspace War. Tyvokka suffered fatal injuries from Gunray's droids during the ambush. The Republic delegates managed to escape the chaos and retreated to the Consular-class cruiser. Valorum utilized the ship to transmit a message, coordinating a rendezvous with Tarkin, while the captain began preparations for takeoff.

After Gunray's shuttle met its end at the hands of the Combine, Jinn instructed the captain to activate the ship's shields and proceed to the rendezvous point, as their presence had clearly been compromised. The captain voiced her hope for a successful escape, acknowledging that the ship had sustained collateral damage from the shuttle's destruction. Once airborne, Jinn noticed another vessel, Blue 9, which he determined was responsible for destroying the Trade Federation shuttle. He inquired with the captain if they could outrun it. The captain explained that their ship and its shields were too damaged to do so, as it was a diplomatic vessel lacking weaponry. Jinn then decided to consult with the other Jedi for their input. Together, the Jedi—excluding the recently deceased Tyvokka—harnessed the Force to create an illusion for the pilot of Blue 9, making him believe he was surrounded by enemy starfighters, causing him to abandon his pursuit of the cruiser and eject.

Under siege

The Consular-class cruiser experienced a crash landing at the designated rendezvous point near Mount Avos. There, Tarkin's forces were evading Stark's army by seeking refuge in the mountain's caves. Aware that the ship was on the verge of exploding, its passengers quickly evacuated, with Koon carrying the injured captain. The Jedi continued to support her as he sought cover behind rocks from the impending explosion. The captain regained her footing as the Jedi discussed their next steps with Tarkin, with Koon suggesting they seek safety within the caves. The pilot then spent the duration of the subsequent battle against the Stark forces in recovery.

When the Jedi began to formulate a plan to transport Valorum to the Galactic Senate on the Republic capital world of Coruscant to appeal for assistance, Koon inquired about the captain's recovery status, to which Gallia confirmed she was well enough. Jace Dallin, Tarkin's aide, orchestrated a diversion to distract the Stark forces, allowing all the Jedi except Koon to escape through an access shaft. Jinn and Gallia then stole a repulsorcraft to reach a spaceport. Their intention was to seize one of the Stark Combine's ships, believing it would be unaffected by the virus that had compromised the Republic ships.

Death

The captain was killed by a booby trap aboard the Quicksilver

Koon revealed to Gallia that Stark possessed a personal vessel, the Quicksilver, which the group could commandeer. The Jedi Tholme and Quinlan Vos, having arrived on Troiken independently, triggered an explosion near the spaceport. This allowed the captain, Gallia, Gunray, and Valorum to proceed towards the Quicksilver, while Jinn and Kenobi returned to Mount Avos. While eliminating the Twi'lek guarding the ship, Koon asked the captain how quickly she could get the ship airborne. She responded that it could be done as soon as Gunray was on board. She also expressed confusion regarding the source of the explosion. The pilot swiftly piloted the Quicksilver away from Troiken, heading towards Coruscant, seated next to Gallia in the pilot's chair.

The group hoped to analyze the Quicksilver's navigation computer to discover a way to counteract the virus that had infected the Republic ships. However, as the ship approached Coruscant and the captain disengaged the Quicksilver from hyperspace, a booby trap was triggered, electrocuting the captain and resulting in her immediate death. Valorum rushed in to investigate and discovered the captain's smoldering body. Gallia suggested that Stark had embedded a hidden code within his ship that activated the trap in his absence. Gallia, Gunray, and Valorum then hurried to the ships' escape pods and successfully landed on Coruscant as the Quicksilver exploded.
