This unidentified Gamma-class assault shuttle served as a component of Moff Kentor Sarne's military strength, presumably having been a part of the Kathol Sector Imperial Fleet before Sarne's acquisition of it following the Battle of Endor.
Within the timeline of 8 ABY, Moff Sarne engaged in a transaction with the Qektoth Confederation, agreeing to provide them with ships and personnel for their own operations in exchange for samples of their biochemical technology. Acting under the command of Captain Rolf Treidum, the assault shuttle proceeded to a designated location to meet with representatives from the Qektoth Confederation.
The Confederation utilized this specific ship as a test platform for a newly developed biochemical weapons. While the delivery mechanism remained unclear, peculiar grooves began to appear in erratic patterns across the floors, walls, and ceilings of the assault shuttle. Surges of energy coursed through the craft, and visible tendrils of energy enveloped the ship's exterior. The biochemical agent induced malfunctions in all of the assault shuttle's systems, including the backup life support. The crew of the assault shuttle attempted to evacuate; some crew members exited the shuttle in zero-G suits, but were killed by the energy discharges. The final two officers retreated to the engineering section and sealed themselves inside.
Twenty-one hours after the assault shuttle received its orders, the New Republic corvette FarStar detected the vessel. Sensor readings of the assault shuttle failed to ascertain the source of the malfunctions or the reason for the energy surges, but they did detect the presence of lifeforms at the rear of the craft. Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum considered the possibility that the shuttle's predicament stemmed from exposure to DarkStryder technology. Consequently, she gave the order for a rescue team to dock with the assault shuttle to extract any survivors and investigate for traces of the mysterious technology.
A support vessel of the FarStar, the Muvon, docked with the assault shuttle and deployed a team onto the ship. The rescue team successfully retrieved the most recent computer logs from the vessel, along with navigational charts to nearby systems. After gaining entry to the engineering section, the rescue team located the two Imperial officers and transported them back to the Muvon. During the rescue mission, the energy discharges intensified in their erratic nature as the shuttle's systems ionized and began to emit energy in unpredictable bursts of feedback. The rescue team managed to evacuate the vessel shortly before it exploded.
Upon returning to the FarStar, the Imperial officers received a diagnosis indicating infection by a biochemical agent for which no known cure existed. In an attempt to administer treatment, the FarStar changed course for the Uukaablis system. However, given the infectious nature of the agent, many of the FarStar's crew members contracted the illness, which resulted in a raid on a Qektoth Confederation research facility in order to locate a cure.
The Qektoth Confederation studied the results of the experiment at their research facility located within the Qu'mock system.
