Unidentified Human bounty hunter (Upper City)
This Human bounty hunter, operating on the planet of Taris in 3956 BBY, was in the employ of the crime lord Davik Kang. Working alongside an Aqualish fellow bounty hunter, he attempted to extract 100 credits from a merchant who was indebted to Kang. Because the merchant lacked the necessary funds, the bounty hunters intended to bring him to Kang, who would kill him as a warning to others who failed to repay their debts. However, the two bounty hunters met their end at the hands of Revan, a soldier of the Galactic Republic, who then rescued the merchant.
Biography
During the Jedi Civil War in 3956 BBY, this Human male bounty hunter served Davik Kang, a crime lord, on the planet of Taris. When an aged merchant was unable to repay his debt of one hundred credits to Kang, this Human bounty hunter and an Aqualish associate were dispatched by the crime lord to forcibly collect the money from the merchant. They cornered the man in the Upper City and tried to coerce him into paying the credits. However, the merchant did not possess the full amount and offered fifty credits as an initial payment. The bounty hunters rejected his offer and prepared to take him to Kang, to serve as a cautionary tale for other debtors. Knowing that Kang would kill him, the merchant cried out for assistance.
Revan, a soldier of the Galactic Republic who was on the planet searching for the Jedi Knight Bastila Shan, witnessed the exchange. Upon hearing the merchant's cry, Revan made the decision to intervene and aid the man, demanding that the bounty hunters release him. Because Kang did not want any witnesses left alive, the Human and the Aqualish attacked Revan, but they were defeated and killed by him.
Personality and traits
This particular bounty hunter displayed no empathy for the merchant's plight and, despite the man's desperate appeals, was determined to deliver him to Kang. He was a loyal follower of Kang and only obeyed his commands. At the time he died, the Human was carrying a blaster pistol and fifty credits. This man had brown hair, eyes, and dark skin.
Behind the scenes
This bounty hunter makes an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic as a non-player character that the player encounters early on. This article is based on the canonical light side playthrough, although the player, as Revan, has multiple choices in how to handle the bounty hunters in the game. The player can impulsively attack the bounty hunters or choose to not get involved at all, in which case the Human and the Aqualish will take the merchant to Kang. If the player approaches the bounty hunters while wearing Sith trooper armor, they will remind him that Kang has an agreement with the Sith, which states that they will not interfere with each other's operations. If, after this, Revan pretends to be a Sith and orders the bounty hunters to free the merchant, they will respond that they only take orders from Kang and then attack the player.
