Unidentified Kenobi baby

A young child was related to Obi-Wan Kenobi, the human male, who was Force-sensitive and a relative, before Kenobi became a member of the Jedi Order. Despite being separated from his family at a young age, Obi-Wan retained faint memories, glimpses, and fleeting images of his past. He specifically remembered his mother's shawl, the hands of his father, and a baby. Obi-Wan believed this baby was his brother, a sentiment he shared with young Princess Leia Organa, expressing his wish for a more complete recollection.

ObiWan9ABY Even though Obi-Wan Kenobi's memories of his brother were limited to fragmented glimpses of his family, he expressed a desire for a more complete recollection.

Behind the scenes

The existence of Obi-Wan Kenobi's sibling was initially revealed in "Part III" of the Disney+ show, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which debuted on June 1, 2022. An early version of the script for the 1983 movie, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, the final film in the Star Wars original trilogy, proposed that Kenobi's brother was Owen Lars. This concept was incorporated into the film's novelization by James Kahn, but it was ultimately omitted from the finished film. This idea was later acknowledged within Star Wars Legends materials.

The junior novel Jedi Apprentice: The Hidden Past, published in 1999, depicted Kenobi having a vision of his childhood, which included a brother named Owen. However, the 2002 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, clarified that Lars and Kenobi were not blood relatives. Instead, Lars was established as the step-brother of Anakin Skywalker. The short story "Lone Wolf: A Tale of Obi-Wan and Luke" by Abel G. Peña, released in 2015, later suggested that Kenobi's earlier vision was actually a premonition of his future life on Tatooine, where he lived in exile and had some interaction with Lars.
