This shuttle was being piloted by Shahan Alama, a Weequay bounty hunter. The command droid lieutenant then informed the Captain about the presence of this ship. Consequently, the Neimoidian gave the order for the frigate to open fire on the Weequay's vessel. Shortly after, the lieutenant detected the arrival of LAAT/i gunships belonging to the Galactic Republic in the combat zone. This information was relayed to the Captain, who responded by dispatching numerous squadrons of droid starfighters with the objective of destroying the gunships. Nevertheless, the Republic forces managed to defeat the Confederate fighters.
During the Clone Wars, an OOM command battle droid, constructed by Baktoid Combat Automata, functioned as a lieutenant within the Navy of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This droid served as a subordinate to a Neimoidian Captain, and was positioned on the command bridge of a Munificent-class star frigate. Around 21 BBY, the frigate was engaged in patrols near the planet Florrum, specifically within the Sertar sector of the Outer Rim Territories, when a Flarestar-class attack shuttle approached the planet. The vessel was under the ownership of Shahan Alama, a Weequay bounty hunter who was heading towards Florrum. Alama's intention was to evade the authorities of the Galactic Republic, due to his participation in the Senate hostage crisis. Upon the Lieutenant's report of the vessel's arrival to the Neimoidian Captain, the Captain instructed the droid to retrieve the sector's threat assessments. The Lieutenant then provided the Captain with a datapad containing the requested files. After reviewing the information, the Captain confirmed that Count Dooku, the Confederate leader, had been briefly captured by a Weequay pirate gang operating from Florrum. Mistaking Alama for a member of these pirates, the Neimoidian gave the order for the frigate to attack Alama's ship, seeking retribution for the Count's prior captivity.
An Acclamator-class assault ship of the Republic, engaged in a scouting mission within the same sector, observed both the attacking frigate and its target. Aayla Secura, a Jedi General, commanded this Republic ship. Secura dispatched CC-5052, also known as "Bly," a Clone Commander, along with a squad of LAAT/i gunships to investigate the conflict. She instructed the clones to avoid engaging the Separatists unless they were fired upon first. After the Confederate frigate detected one of the gunships, the Lieutenant proceeded to notify the Neimoidian Captain about the enemy's movements. The Captain responded by deploying squadrons of Vulture droids, Hyena-class bombers, and Single Trooper Aerial Platforms to engage the Republic forces. However, Bly's gunship was successful in defeating the droid squadrons, and was also responsible for shooting down Alama's ship, thus securing a victory for the Republic forces.
The battle droid lieutenant possessed black photoreceptors and, consistent with all OOM command battle droids from the same series, had a height of 1.91 meters. As the second-in-command aboard a Munificent-class star frigate, the droid lieutenant served the ship's Neimoidian Captain, with responsibilities including overseeing the frigate's patrol operations and reporting any detected activity within the sector to the superior officer. The Lieutenant's reporting style was not without its flaws, as the droid's insufficiently detailed notification regarding Alama's craft led the Neimoidian to reprimand the droid and request a more comprehensive briefing. The command droid demonstrated a dutiful adherence to the Captain's orders, and when the Captain stated that the droids would not be entitled to a share of the reward he anticipated receiving for achieving two significant victories over the Confederacy's enemies, the Lieutenant readily concurred.
