The reference book The Essential Reader's Companion by Pablo Hidalgo, released on October 2, 2012, was the first mention of the Planetary command ship. The command ship's initial appearance was in Alexander Freed's short story The Last Battle of Colonel Jace Malcom, found in Star Wars Insider 137 and published on October 23, 2012.
