Talk: Shayn Mikel

BBY/ABY in canon articles

Greetings, Shayn.

I've noticed recently that you've been altering certain articles set after the Battle of Endor (roughly spanning from Aftermath to The Force Awakens) from specifying "30 years after the Battle of Endor" to "34 years after the Battle of Yavin." Your justification seems to be that referencing the latter is somehow more dependable for the timeline. However, this is actually incorrect. The established sources consistently use the "2 years after the battle of Endor" timeframe, ensuring a smaller, more precise number.

Your method introduces unnecessary confusion; why not stick with the more current reference point? As the saying goes, "If it's not broken, don't try to fix it." While I am fairly new to Wookieepedia, I felt it necessary to bring this to your attention, especially given that some of your recent edits have been reverted. Thank you! Ventress protection

Hello, I see that you have requested protection for the Asajj Ventress article. I just wanted to inform you that it wasn't an edit war. The admin actually reverted their own edit, and if you review the other user's talk page, you'll find their explanation of the mistake. --Lewisr (talk) 21:50, November 5, 2016 (UTC)

  • I appreciate the information. I was unaware. Shayn Mikel ( talk ) 21:51, November 5, 2016 (UTC) Also, check here, as it is the same situation with the other pages, so I don't believe protection is needed. --Lewisr (talk) 21:53, November 5, 2016 (UTC)

Red One

On which page of the Ultimate Visual Guide did you locate that information? Jkirk8907 (talk) 03:23, January 6, 2017 (UTC)

  • I have reviewed the page you referenced, but I didn't find any mention of Red One or the stripes associated with it.

Double spaces

Hi, I've noticed that you tend to insert two spaces before beginning to write when you're typing. Could you please refrain from doing so? It creates additional work for others who have to constantly correct it. Thanks! --Lewisr (talk) 02:27, June 8, 2017 (UTC)

Add more of those Uprising images

Many characters are still lacking images, and some don't even have their own page. --ZapikCZ (talk) 18:35, June 8, 2017 (UTC)

Removing links

You indicated that you're removing redundant links, but some of the links you removed are actually meant to be there. Even if they are linked in the introduction, they still need to be linked at their first occurrence within the main body of the text. --Lewisr (talk) 01:00, June 24, 2017 (UTC)

  • Just a quick note about the defaultsort function: it should be placed above the categories, not below them. -- Lewisr ( talk ) 11:13, June 24, 2017 (UTC)

Answering simple questions in Discussions

Seriously, you should be more aware. Each time you do that, you are encouraging laziness and poor habits. People should be politely directed and encouraged to search the wiki on their own. --ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 21:37, July 26, 2017 (UTC)

  • It's not necessary for you to avoid those threads and posts entirely. In fact, I encourage everyone to politely inform new and inexperienced users about the wiki's existence. If we provide them with the answer directly, as we've seen in the past, those users never learn or modify their behavior. I eagerly anticipate the day when we can post instructional videos and/or animated GIFs for nearly everything. Imagine the significant time and effort we could save if we had videos/GIFs that visually demonstrated how users can utilize all of the mobile features! -- ChristopherLeeGallant ( talk ) 00:05, July 28, 2017 (UTC)

Battle for Tatooine

Greetings! I see you were the creator of the article for the Battle for Tatooine. Do you happen to have access to a good playthrough of the game from the Rebellion's perspective? I'm planning to elevate Kosh's article to a higher status soon. :-) --Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 09:57, October 9, 2017 (UTC)

Shayn... are you attempting to prove a point?

Or are you simply curious about the outcome? Dretlerthedroid (talk) 12:33, December 4, 2017 (UTC)

Cassette

The proton chair, or mind evaporator, was merely a device that stimulated the mind and could be used for purposes beyond erotic ones. Therefore, there's no need to specify. Agent Es 6 23, 2018

Re: Wookieepedia Discussion

Hello Shayn. I am concerned that I lack the complete picture here. My discussion post history, like anyone else's, can be accessed by clicking "Discussion Posts" in the user profile, which is located next to the post count. Regards, TK-999 (talk) 10:23, July 3, 2018 (UTC)
