The Vaklin Uprising represents a period of conflict that occurred in 19 BBY on the world of Vaklin. It involved clashes between the armed forces of the Galactic Empire and the local Vaklin insurgents. Darth Vader successfully suppressed the uprising, killing three Jedi, including one named Cho'na Bene.

As part of the widespread Great Jedi Purge, Imperial forces launched an invasion of the planet Vaklin in 19 BBY. Vaklin held strong pro-Jedi sentiments and traditions. Following the Empire's takeover of the world, Jedi Knight Cho'na Bene, along with a Jedi Master and his apprentice, initiated a rebellion against Imperial rule. Given the population's support for the rebellion, Darth Vader was deployed to sway public opinion against the Jedi and crush the uprising.

Upon arriving, Darth Vader eliminated the Jedi Master who was assisting Bene. The Master's apprentice was captured four days later and held within the Imperial command center. Despite these initial victories, the conflict became protracted. Over the next two weeks, Imperial troops faced constant harassment from the insurgents and Cho'na Bene. While Vader and clone stormtroopers maintained patrols, Major Oniye Namada of the Imperial Security Bureau investigated the insurgents' infiltration of the local population. The Sith Lord failed to completely suppress the uprising, and Namada was unable to gain the trust of the people. During the last ambush, numerous 501st Legion stormtroopers were killed in the area known as the Howling Ruins.

Shortly after the ambush, the insurgents launched an attack on the Imperial command center with the goal of freeing the imprisoned Jedi Knight. A mouse droid carrying explosives detonated within the base, granting the rebels access to the detention area. However, Vader eliminated all of them, including the Jedi prisoner, who revealed Cho'na Bene's location before dying. Enraged, Vader intended to bombard the main population center to force the planet's submission, but Emperor Palpatine prevented this due to the potential loss of Vaklin's population and resources.
Forced to change his strategy, Darth Vader sought Major Namada's assistance to understand the population's continued loyalty to the Jedi. The Sith Lord intended to eliminate the people's positive memories of the Jedi. Oniye Namada then organized the systematic destruction of all symbols and artifacts associated with the Jedi Order on Vaklin.

Jedi statues in Vaklin Zenith were torn down, Northward Park was set ablaze, and the site of a Clone Wars battle was cleansed. Imperial forces presented themselves as protectors of the population, and an education center was established to indoctrinate the youth of Vaklin into the Empire.
Meanwhile, Darth Vader continued his pursuit of Cho'na Bene within the Temple of Imperfect Repose. Inside the temple, he slew the Tuk'ata Nobilis creatures and the Temple's steward. Later, the structure was completely destroyed by an orbital bombardment.

Vader eventually located Cho'na Bene in the caverns beneath the temple. The Sith and the Jedi engaged in a brief lightsaber_duel before Bene succumbed to the effects of a lethal dose of azetal gas present in the caves. Vader was immune due to his armor. Ultimately, the Sith Lord chose not to execute the Jedi, instead allowing him to escape the temple ruins. Cho'na Bene reached Vaklin Zenith, only to be shot and killed by Oniye Namada in the city square after the citizens, who once supported him, refused to help.
Following Cho'na Bene's death, the Vaklin population lost its faith in the Jedi. This execution, combined with the established propaganda, convinced the people that the Jedi were not heroes. As a result, the uprising quickly dissolved. Emperor Palpatine was pleased with this outcome, intending the shift in public opinion on Vaklin to serve as a model for the continuation of the Great Jedi Purge.
