Cho'na Bene, a male Jedi Knight of the Myneyrsh species, dedicated his service to the Jedi Order during the concluding decades of the Galactic Republic. Following the end of the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems by a few months, Bene, along with two other Jedi, initiated an insurgency against the Galactic Empire on the planet of Vaklin. Darth Vader, a Sith Lord, commanded the Imperial forces that were dispatched to quell the rebellion. Vader swiftly overcame Bene's Jedi allies. However, the Myneyrsh skillfully avoided Vader's grasp and persisted in leading the insurgents as they harassed the Imperial forces.
After Bene ambushed Vader's troops in the region known as the Howling Ruins, the Sith gave the order to eradicate all traces of the Jedi from the planet. This purge encompassed the destruction of the Temple of Imperfect Repose, a Jedi sanctuary where Bene was concealed. Emerging from hiding to survey the devastation, Bene discovered Vader awaiting him, leading to a duel where the pair engaged. Bene guided Vader beneath the temple, into a pocket filled with azetal gas, where they fought until Vader gained the advantage. Instead of killing the Jedi, Vader abandoned Bene amidst the poisonous gas. After inhaling a significant amount of the gas, Bene, weakened, journeyed to the city of Vaklin Zenith in search of assistance from the insurgents. Before they could offer aid, he was fatally shot by Major Oniye Namada of the Imperial Security Bureau.
Cho'na Bene, a male Myneyrsh possessing Force-sensitive abilities, underwent training in the ways of the Force under the guidance of the Jedi Order. He eventually ascending to the esteemed rank of Jedi Knight. Bene dutifully served the Order and the Galactic Republic throughout their concluding decades, preceding the Republic's replaced by the Galactic Empire. Around 19 BBY, a few months following the end of the Clone Wars waged between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Bene stood among the limited number of Jedi who managed to survive Order 66. This was the infamous betrayal of the Jedi Order, marked by the execution of numerous members by the Grand Army of the Republic, signaling the commencement of the Great Jedi Purge. Alongside two other survivors—a reptilian Jedi Knight and his former Master—Bene found himself on Vaklin, a planet characterized by a strong pro-Jedi sentiment among its population.
Bene took the lead, guiding the two other Jedi in sparking an insurgency that opposed the newly established Empire. Their cause garnered support from a significant portion of the local populace, who joined their ranks. Reacting swiftly, Imperial forces, commanded by the Sith Lord Darth Vader and supported by the Imperial Security Bureau, descended upon the planet. During the ensuing protracted conflict, Bene and the reptilian Knight witnessed Vader's ruthless act of exposing the Jedi Master to the lethal void of space on a Twelve-bladed satellite of Shrokaan, resulting in his demise. After four days after the death of his former Master, the reptilian Knight was captured by Imperial forces, leaving Bene as the sole leader of the insurgents in their efforts to harass the Imperial forces.

Following the capture of his fellow Jedi Knight by twelve days, Bene orchestrated an ambush targeting Imperial forces within the region known as the Howling Ruins. Vader, actively searching for Bene, led a patrol into the ruins, where the insurgent forces launched their attack at approximately 0930 hours local time. Armed with blasters, the insurgents unleashed a barrage of fire upon the Imperials from elevated positions, while Bene remained concealed, observing the situation. The Jedi waited for Vader to be pinned down before emerging from his hiding spot, eliminating a pair of clone stormtroopers who were attempting to assist the Sith. With blasterfire diverting Vader's attention, Bene strategically targeted vulnerable assets within the patrol, successfully destroying a 74-Z speeder bike and a TX-130 Fighter Tank. The destruction of the tank served as a signal for the remaining insurgents under Bene's command, who deployed pyro grenades to provide cover for their retreat. Bene then confronted Vader, offering a compliment and a proposal for peace, before retreating into nearby caverns, where he established a base beneath the Temple of Imperfect Repose, a structure dedicated to honoring the Jedi Order. The Myneyrsh hoped to lure Vader into the treacherous caves, but around 0900 hours, the Imperials retreated, as Vader had discerned Bene's plan.
Vader retreated to the city of Vaklin Zenith, aiming to draw Bene out by holding the captured Jedi Knight within the Imperial command center. While this tactic did not succeed in attracting Bene himself, other members of the insurgency launched a rescue attempt shortly after the ambush in the Howling Ruins. This attack proved unsuccessful, resulting in the deaths of the entire assault force and the captive Jedi. However, it did prompt the Imperials to temporarily withdraw from the surface of Vaklin to Imperial starships in orbit while the center underwent repairs. The locals revered the fallen insurgents as martyrs and celebrated what they perceived as an Imperial defeat. Motivated by this attack, Vader sought to diminish local support for Bene and his insurgency. The Imperials initiated a campaign to remove all traces of the Jedi Order from Vaklin, dismantling commemorative statues and sites associated with the Order, and even prohibiting certain names that were shared with renowned Jedi. This purge of Jedi culture reached its climax with the destruction of the Temple of Imperfect Repose, the ruins of which Bene visited following the bombardment that obliterated the temple.

Amidst the ruins, the Jedi discovered the bodies of the Temple steward and a pair of Tuk'ata Nobilis, a domesticated breed of Tuk'ata, which had resided within the temple. As Bene mourned over the deceased, Vader emerged from the ruins and confronted him, revealing that the reptilian Jedi had betrayed his comrade's location before his own demise. The two fought briefly until Vader disarmed the Jedi, who fled into the caverns beneath the temple, taunting Vader as the Sith pursued him. Bene led Vader into an area filled with stone columns, which stood above a pocket of highly flammable azetal gas, preventing Vader from using his lightsaber. Vader informed the Jedi that azetal was also toxic, before the pair then fought. As they did so Bene claimed Vader's attempts to erase people's memories of the Jedi would never work so long as Vader himself obsessed over them and was a slave to his hatred. Vader then gained the upper hand, but—instead of killing Bene—left him in a weakened state to try and escape from the gas-filled cave.
The Jedi managed to escape from the caverns, but not before inhaling large amounts of gas, and made his way to Vaklin Zenith, where he encountered Djon, a Ryn supporter of the insurgency. He begged Djon to help him reach one of the insurgency's safe houses, but before the Ryn could aid him, Major Oniye Namada of the Imperial Security Bureau—disguised as a stormtrooper by wearing a set of Stormtrooper armor—shot Bene and killed him. Almost two dozen civilians witnessed the Jedi's humiliating death, which was all part of Namada and Vader's plan to discredit the Jedi. With Bene gone, the Vaklin insurgency started to fall apart, and within a week, their activity had dropped to only seven percent of what it had previously been. The people of Vaklin's enthusiasm for the Imperials slowly increased as the Empire showed them the benefits of an Imperial presence. Namada documented the entire Vaklin insurgency in a report titled I-1807-VAK.

Cho'na Bene possessed white eyes, black hair, and blue skin, adorned with darker blue markings on his face. During the insurgency, he primarily employed hit-and-run tactics in battle, often attempting to lure his adversaries into environments where he could gain an advantage. Following a successful engagement against a significant portion of Vader's forces, the Mynyersh commended Darth Vader for his combat skills and extended an offer of peace, although he retreated before Vader could respond.
Bene experienced profound sorrow upon discovering the deaths of the steward and the Tuk'ata Nobilis at the Temple of Imperfect Repose. Despite Vader's efforts to erase the memory of the Jedi on Vaklin, he firmly believed that the Order would endure as heroic figures in stories. He also asserted that as long as Vader remained fixated on hunting Jedi, they would never be forgotten, and Vader would never find contentment unless he demonstrated compassion and allowed the surviving Jedi to live in peace. After inhaling large amounts of gas, Bene became desperate and weak, begging for help and emerging in clear sight within an Imperial-controlled area.
Bene was a skilled tactician and demonstrated proficiency in lightsaber combat, capable of wielding three lightsabers simultaneously due to his four arms. He managed to withstand Vader for a period of time in a fight using lightsabers, the Force, and hand-to-hand combat, although he was eventually overpowered.
Cho'na Bene made his debut appearance in 2012 within the pages of the comic book Purge – The Tyrant's Fist 1, penned by Alexander Freed and brought to life through the illustrations of Marco Castiello and Andrea Chella. He also featured in the subsequent issue of the two-part narrative, which was released the following year.
