The inaugural reference to the Validusia system within Star Wars canon occurred within the thirty-fourth issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine series, a publication by De Agostini that was released to the public in 2015.
Within Star Wars Legends continuity, the Validusia system made its initial visual appearance, though without a specific designation, as part of the illustration for Naval Station Validusia. This artwork was created by illustrator Ansel Hsiao for the reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart, and published by Del Rey in 2012. Subsequently, during that same year, the online companion resource associated with the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas formally identified the system as the Validusia system and placed it within the Bes Ber Bikade sector of the Expansion Region, specifying its grid coordinates as L-15.
