Vanguard Five, a New Republic Vanguard Squadron pilot's callsign, was assigned to a new pilot joining the squadron upon Lindon Javes's assumption of command.
The video game Star Wars: Squadrons, released in 2020, features Vanguard Five as the callsign for the New Republic player character. Because players can choose their character's name, "Vanguard Five" is the only designation used by other characters to address the pilot.
