Vanzell Mar-Klar, a Jedi Master of the human species, operated covertly to instruct promising new Jedi Knights in the aftermath of the Great Jedi Purge. Among Mar-Klar's students was Nedriss Narr. This pair, along with other Padawans, journeyed to a concealed Jedi Temple alongside a group of younglings for evaluation. Following instruction in lightsaber combat and Force techniques, the assembled group engaged in combat against spectral manifestations of Darth Vader and other adherents of the dark side of the Force. The specter confronted by Nedriss Narr embodied one of the apprentice's most profound anxieties.
Mar-Klar held the central role in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, an attraction previously featured at various Disney theme parks owned by Disney Parks, but is no longer in operation. Disney Parks Cast Members of diverse ages and genders portrayed the character and their students, with park visitors playing the part of the younglings. The footwear worn by the Cast Members embodying the Jedi Master are identical to those worn by Kelleran Beq, the Jedi Master hosting the Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge game show.
