Vetch was a member of the Urodel species who was utilized by the spare parts vendor named Nurchi in an attempt to pressure the human Cassian Andor into settling a debt in 5 BBY. Nurchi confronted Andor on the streets of the planet Ferrix, with Vetch standing menacingly behind Andor; however, Andor questioned Vetch's association with Nurchi before departing.

Living on the planet of Ferrix during the reign of the Galactic Empire, Vetch was a Urodel native to the world. He had some familiarity with the human named Cassian Andor and occasionally provided assistance to the spare parts vendor Nurchi. In 5 BBY, Nurchi intended to use Vetch's imposing presence to intimidate Andor into repaying a deposit, simply instructing the Urodel to stand in place. Later, when Nurchi noticed Andor hurrying past his stall, the vendor stopped the debtor and blocked his path until Vetch moved to a position behind Andor, looming over him.
Andor expressed surprise at seeing Vetch working for Nurchi, questioning the vendor if he was attempting to threaten him. He then inquired of Vetch why he had begun taking orders from Nurchi, asking if the Urodel was in dire need of employment. Moving his widely spaced eyestalks, Vetch stated that he had only been told to stand there, after which Nurchi reiterated his demand for his money; however, Andor simply walked past him and left, indicating that he would not mention the incident before bidding farewell to Vetch. Nurchi then turned and stared at the Urodel, who asked what was wrong.
