The initial unveiling of Vic Vankoh's name occurred concurrently with the announcement of the animated special LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation. This took place during the Summer of LEGO Star Wars panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022. Subsequently, Vankoh made an appearance in the trailer for the special, which was released on June 21, 2022. The voice of the character was provided by singer/comedian "Weird Al" Yankovic, who also contributed a new musical piece titled "Scarif Beach Party" specifically for the film.
