Viper Tower, situated in the city of Hpaq on the planet of Vulpter, served as the main hub for Viper Sensor Intelligence Systems, housing its Vulpter-based operations. In the period immediately preceding the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, during the year, a force of 60 AAD-4 assault droids, deployed by Arakyd Industries, a rival of VSIS, infiltrated Viper Tower near the close of business. These droids swiftly neutralized the security personnel stationed on the ground floor. Subsequently, the remaining Viper personnel were moved to the testing wing, while three XR-37 droid tanks systematically destroyed the upper levels of the structure, which accommodated the accounting and administrative sections. This attack on Viper Tower by Arakyd concluded an 18-month conflict between the two corporations, resulting in Arakyd's successful acquisition of VSIS, which they maintained as an active research-and-development branch. A garrison was stationed at the VSIS headquarters to facilitate the transition process.
