Vonak

Vonak, situated in the galaxy, served as the original world of the Cilare people, a culture deeply rooted in martial traditions and one that reveled in the thrill of battle around the time of 25 ABY. Its landscape was characterized by expansive grassy plains, providing habitat for both canine and reptilian species that were frequently the targets of the Cilare warriors' hunts.

History

In the course of the widespread Yuuzhan Vong War, a formidable Yuuzhan Vong war fleet launched an assault on Vonak. Confident in their martial skills, the Cilare fearlessly confronted the invading Yuuzhan Vong forces. However, the Yuuzhan Vong swiftly gained the upper hand, annihilating the Cilare through the deployment of their devastating Fire Breathers. Only one Cilare warrior, Arbeloa, survived the onslaught. Despite his isolation from other sentient species, Arbeloa endeavored to alert others to the impending Yuuzhan Vong threat. Following the transmission of his warning message into the vastness of space, he was captured. Subsequently, this very same Yuuzhan Vong battle fleet proceeded to attack the planet Artorias, located within the Outer Rim Territories.

Behind the scenes

Prior to the publication of The Essential Guide to Warfare, the name of this planet was not officially established. Subsequently, Jason Fry officially verified on his personal blog that Vonak was indeed the native planet of the Cilare people.
