Vratixia renanicus, or Vratixian barley, was a grain species first grown on Thyferra. It was used in the creation of the medicinal compound bacta, in conjunction with alazhi and kavam. In the time of the High Republic Era, Vratixian barley was cultivated by an autonomous colony located on the planet of Sedri Minor. The Jedi Order launched an investigation into the colony's operations on Sedri, after a Hutt starship transporting the barley from Sedri Minor was assaulted by the Nihil.
