The Weemell sector existed as a component of the Core Worlds. Within this sector was the Loedorvia system, the location of the planet Loedorvia. This planet was inhabited by Humans.
During the period of the Clone Wars, Loedorvia was situated within the territory controlled by the Galactic Republic. Around the year 20.2 BBY, this celestial body became the location of a battle fought between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During this conflict, the Confederate General known as Grievous gave the order to unleash the airborne hive virus disease referred to as the Brainrot Plague upon the population of Loedorvia.
The unleashing of this disease, also known as the Loedorvian Brain Plague, resulted in the death of tens of thousands of individuals instantly. Before an antidote could be created, the subsequent outbreak of the disease led to the complete annihilation of all of the Republic's clone trooper forces and nearly all Humans within the Weemell sector. The sector was also rendered temporarily uninhabitable as a consequence.
The Weemell sector's initial mention occurred within the 2005 reference book Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections authored by Curtis Saxton.
