The Wellspring of Life, also referred to as the Force planet, served as the original homeworld of the midi-chlorians. These microscopic entities dwelled within all living organisms and were essential for the existence of life. Through their existence, beings generated the Living Force, and sentient individuals who sought to connect with their inherent Force sensitivity could discern the will of the Cosmic Force, conveyed through their midi-chlorians. Moreover, people could manipulate the Force as an energy field to perform remarkable feats. The Jedi Order believed that devotion to the Force's will and the protection of life aligned with the light side of the Force, and Jedi Grand Master Yoda recognized the Wellspring of Life as a light side vergence. He located this planet within a radiant nebula situated in the Deep Core region of the galaxy; it was absent from all star maps and lacked a formal designation. Upon arrival, the surface appeared desolate, except for radiant geysers that emitted energy originating from the planet's interior. Beneath the surface, there existed floating islands teeming with plant life, all deeply immersed in the Force.
This planet was the very source of life throughout the galaxy. Its existence was shrouded in legend; even those within the Jedi Order possessed incomplete knowledge regarding the Wellspring of Life during the era of the Clone Wars. A Jedi Master, named Qui-Gon Jinn, unearthed the legend shortly before his passing and dedicated himself to its extensive study. Although he was convinced he had identified several possible locations, Jinn died and merged with the Cosmic Force before he could explore any of them. Nevertheless, Jinn's Force spirit interacted with the Living Force by appearing in dreams to Grand Master Yoda, urging him to continue his research. During the Clone Wars, Yoda journeyed to this planet and encountered the enigmatic Force Priestesses.
The Wellspring of Life, discovered by Yoda, resided at the heart of the galaxy. Encased within a nebula composed of golden gas, the Wellspring presented itself as a planet characterized by fractured rock formations. Despite its seemingly barren appearance, the surface was pristine, pure, and welcoming to all species. Geysers of light burst forth from the numerous cracks crisscrossing the world, overflowing with unadulterated life energy.
The planet's interior formed a hollow space containing free-floating islands of solid ground. Suspended amidst amber-colored clouds, these islands were blanketed in jungles of peculiar flora and inhabited by creatures of diverse forms and sizes. The beasts that roamed the jungle posed no threat to visitors of the Wellspring, and neither hunger nor thirst affected anything within the planet. They could not be taken off the Wellspring without disappearing. The Wellspring served as the birthplace of the microscopic organisms known as midi-chlorians, which then dispersed throughout the galaxy. The secrets of immortality were embedded within the vergence and were intricately linked to the Force Priestesses who wandered the land.
