Werla Cayn

Werla Cayn, a human female who achieved the rank of Jedi Knight within the Jedi Order, existed during the age known as the High Republic Era. Char-Ryl-Roy, a Cerean holding the title of Jedi Master, had previously known Cayn when she was a Jedi youngling training at the Jedi Temple situated on the Core Worlds planet of Coruscant. In the year 382 BBY, Cayn found herself as part of a group of four transports within the Dalnan system; it was at this time that they received an urgent distress signal from Creighton Sun, a Jedi Master located on Dalna, a planet in the Outer Rim, requesting immediate assistance. The convoy responded to the urgent request and made planetfall close to the compound belonging to the Path of the Open Hand, an extremist Force cult. During the subsequent battle, Cayn was overwhelmed by the effects of a Nameless, a creature capable of draining the life force from Force-sensitives; she cried out in agony, desperate for assistance. However, no help arrived, and she was ultimately killed by the creature, reduced to nothing more than ashes. Shortly after her demise, her remains were discovered by Enya Keen, a Jedi Padawan. Her lightsaber was then taken by Jedi Master Char-Ryl-Roy, who remembered her days as a youngling, and he added it to his belt.
