- Social Media Team members have the authority to publish content related to both the Star Wars universe and Wookieepedia on the site's social media accounts. Typical examples of such content include, but are not limited to: …posts that focus on Star Wars creators at Lucasfilm. …posts that delve into Star Wars lore and background information. …posts that provide details about upcoming Star Wars releases or commemorate the anniversaries of previously released works. …posts that showcase Wookieepedia's status articles, after they have successfully completed the nomination process. …posts that involve cross-promotion of content created for Wookieepedia's other social media platforms, such as announcements regarding the release of new audio articles or interviews that were initially published on Wookieepedia's YouTube channel. …posts that announce collaborations between Wookieepedia and other entities, provided that these collaborations have been approved by the administration, as outlined in the partnerships clause of Wookieepedia:Administrators.
- The Social Media Team is encouraged to collaborate with the site's administrators to effectively represent Wookieepedia's interests. In regards to statements made on behalf of the entire site (e.g., " Wookieepedia supports… ," " We condemn… "): Ideally, no single Social Media Team member should issue a statement that claims to represent the entire Wookieepedia community. Instead, it is preferable to reach a consensus among the team members. However, in urgent situations where immediate action is required and only one Social Media Team member is available, that member is encouraged to seek guidance from Wookieepedia's administrators before proceeding. For matters that are not time-sensitive, the Social Media Team should be contacted (e.g., through a ping on Discord), with each member given the opportunity to respond and participate in relevant discussions, ultimately reaching a majority agreement. Although not mandatory, the Social Media Team is encouraged to seek advice from the rest of the administration when circumstances warrant it. If a Social Media Team member is on a break (e.g., using ), the team does not need to wait for their response after a period of 2 days.
- Any original content created by Social Media Team members for Wookieepedia's social media platforms, regardless of the format, is considered the intellectual property of Wookieepedia. Wookieepedia retains ownership and copyright of this content even after a Social Media Team member leaves their position. This means that the content may remain visible on the site's social media accounts at the discretion of the remaining Social Media Team members. Exceptions to this rule include content posted on Wookieepedia's social media accounts that is owned by other copyright holders, such as derivatives or direct copies of official images or fan-made images, which may be removed at the request of the copyright holder.

The event should be announced through Wookieepedia's Discussions and/or in the Wookieepedia Contests namespace, as well as on Wookieepedia's social media platforms.

- In most cases, private communications between Wookieepedia's social media accounts and the broader Star Wars community or Lucasfilm Star Wars creators should not be deleted without the consensus of the entire Social Media Team. This is to maintain a historical record of the site's interactions with individuals and organizations. Exceptions apply to messages that consist of blatant spam or other content that violates the user conduct policy (e.g., messages that solely attack the site or its members). Such messages may be deleted without consensus, provided that they have not been responded to.
- No Social Media Team member is permitted to modify another member's access to Wookieepedia's social media accounts, whether temporarily or permanently, unless the majority of the Social Media Team consents. Prior to a Wookieepedia:Requests for removal of user rights, the remaining members of Wookieepedia's Social Media Team are expected to secure the accounts on the site's behalf by revoking social media account access to the Social Media Team member who is the subject of the impending vote. By doing so, this prevents the accounts from being lost to a potentially demoted community member. If the Social Media Team member retains their position after the vote's conclusion, the remaining members of the team are obligated to promptly assist them with restoring their prior permissions.

A request for Social Media Team membership ("RFSMT") remains open for two weeks. After this period, a new member will be inducted and provided with assistance in accessing Wookieepedia's social media accounts. In exceptional circumstances, Social Media Team members who have demonstrably abused their privileges over an extended period or have failed to remain active in their duties may be removed from their position through Wookieepedia:Requests for removal of user rights.
Occasionally, an administrator or rollback who has not maintained sufficient activity in their role may have their rights removed in accordance with the activity requirements associated with their respective position. If such an individual is also a Social Media Team member, their Social Media Team membership should be terminated concurrently.
