Wookieepedia:Canon policy/Fantasy Flight Games

The official status within the canon of Star Wars roleplaying and gaming materials, as published by Fantasy Flight Games, has not been officially determined and made public by the Lucasfilm Story Group. Given this lack of official declaration, Wookieepedia has established its own internal methodology for documenting this information. Displayed on the page below is the complete listing of Star Wars games produced by Fantasy Flight Games, with each entry classified under either the Canon or Legends continuity for Wookieepedia's article coverage purposes.

Star Wars Roleplaying

NOTES:

  • Sourcebooks originating from Edge of the Empire , Age of Rebellion , and Force and Destiny that are categorized as "BOTH" are applicable to both the Canon and Legends continuities. This is similar to how Wookieepedia handles the Star Wars original trilogy and prequel trilogy films, along with Star Wars: The Clone Wars . However, any Canon-specific material found within these books remains exclusively within the Canon continuity. As an illustration, content related to Star Wars Rebels from Nexus of Power will not be incorporated into Legends pages.
  • Individual cards featured in the Star Wars Roleplaying Specialization Decks and Adversary Decks contain reprinted information from specific Edge of the Empire , Age of Rebellion , Force and Destiny , or Era Sourcebooks books. Therefore, these cards are treated in the same way as the books they are derived from. For instance, the Whaladon card from the Imperials and Rebels III Adversary Deck is linked to Strongholds of Resistance and, as a result, is considered part of Legends.

Given that these original sourcebooks are part of Legends, these reprints are also classified as Legends.

  • Items marked as "SPLIT" will have their content divided between Canon and Legends, depending on whether a particular subject has been reintroduced into the Canon continuity. As an example, the Slave I Expansion Pack features Emon Azzameen and the Andrasta , which are exclusive to Legends and will be treated accordingly. Any entirely new content will be considered Canon.
  • For future releases, expansions that are entirely Canon will be classified as CANON; expansions with a majority of Canon content will be classified as CANON; expansions entirely within Legends will be classified as LEGENDS; expansions with a majority of Legends content will be classified as SPLIT; and Conversion Kits containing a mix of Canon and Legends content will be classified as SPLIT.
