Coronet on Corellia faces a siege from forces still loyal after Palpatine's demise. Rogue Squadron, which includes Luke Skywalker, Wedge Antilles, Wes Janson, Ten Numb, and Tycho Celchu, finds itself embroiled in intense combat. Working together, they successfully destroy an Imperial AT-ST. Upon spotting Luke and his lightsaber, the Imperials identify him as their primary target. Although the Imperials manage to suppress Rogue Squadron, they break free and eliminate an officer. The officer reveals that their attack is intended to demonstrate their continued control. As the Imperials begin their withdrawal, Ten covertly follows them. He trails them back to their ship but is discovered and incapacitated by an Imperial guard. Luke, Wedge, and the captured Imperial officer set out to locate Ten. Meanwhile, Tycho and Wes prepare the starfighters. Luke witnesses the Imperials taking off and initially believes Ten is lost, until their ships arrive. Luke boards his A-wing, accompanied by R2-D2.
Rogue Squadron pursues the Imperials into the vastness of space. The Imperials deploy TIE Fighters in an attempt to impede their pursuit. These fighters turn out to be expendable suicide drones, easily dispatched without causing any friendly losses. However, they successfully delayed Rogue Squadron, allowing the Imperial ship to escape.
Aboard the Imperial vessel, Ten regains consciousness only to discover that his hand, which contained a tracking device, has been severed. Ten is then given a glimpse of the counter-rebellion being orchestrated on the ship.
