This Star Dreadnought of the Executor-class functioned as a warship for the Galactic Empire. After the demise of Emperor Palpatine during the Battle of Endor, this Star Dreadnought became the leading vessel for X1, a clone who was sensitive to the Force and wanted to be the next emperor. After the New Republic accomplished the freeing of Cloud City located on Bespin, X1 journeyed to Bast Castle using the Super Star Destroyer; Bast Castle used to be the refuge of the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. Bast Castle was on the planet Vjun, which was covered in acid rain, so that X1 could uncover secrets of the dark side of the Force.
Later, the Star Dreadnought was present above volcanic Mustafar, which acted as the de facto headquarters for X1's faction, when the New Republic assaulted the planet. While New Republic soldiers fought X1's forces on the ground, the Imperials activated a planetary shield alongside a separate shield that protected X1's base, preventing New Republic reinforcements from arriving. X2, X1's clone brother, infiltrated the Star Dreadnought after a diversionary attack and used the Super Star Destroyer's weaponry to take out the Imperials' shield generators. Even though the base's shields were disabled, the planetary shield remained active, causing X2 to crash the warship into the defensive barrier. This action deactivated the shield, allowing the New Republic's reinforcements to land. The Super Star Destroyer was destroyed in the collision, and its burning wreckage came to rest on Mustafar's surface.

After the New Republic freed Cloud City on the gas giant Bespin, X1 wanted to learn the secrets of the dark side of the Force. To do this, he went to Bast Castle, where Darth Vader, Palpatine's apprentice, used to live, on Vjun. X1 used the Star Dreadnought to travel to this world that was soaked in acid rain.
Sometime later, the warship was above the volcanic world of Mustafar, which was the de facto capital of X1's empire. The New Republic launched an attack on Mustafar, hoping to defeat X1 and his forces. New Republic troops landed on the planet but could not get to X1's base, which was protected by a shield. The Imperials also activated a planetary shield that stopped the New Republic from sending reinforcements to help the troops who were already there. X2, X1's clone brother and a longtime enemy of the Empire, came up with a plan to deal with both shields. He faked an attack on the Imperial fleet and infiltrated the Super Star Destroyer in his X-wing starfighter, fighting his way to the warship's bridge.
On the bridge, X2 used the Star Dreadnought's weapons to destroy the shield projectors that were generating the Imperials' shield defenses. He succeeded, but only the shield protecting X1's command center went down. Because the planetary shield was still active, X2 decided to ram the Super Star Destroyer into the barrier. The impact brought down the shield and destroyed the Imperial warship, whose remains fell onto the lava plains on Mustafar's surface. With the Imperials' defenses gone, the New Republic was able to land its reserves and defeat X1's forces. X2 escaped the destruction of the Star Dreadnought and went on to defeat his clone brother after a brief lightsaber duel, ending the threat of X1's empire.
X1, a Force-sensitive clone trooper who fought for the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars and served under the Empire during the Galactic Civil War, commanded this Super Star Destroyer. After Emperor Palpatine died at Endor, X1 was one of many Imperial leaders who declared themselves warlords and tried to become the new Emperor. He used this warship as his command ship. Many stormtroopers also served on the Star Dreadnought.
This unidentified Executor-class Star Dreadnought was seen in the 2009 video game Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron. The PSP version of the game only shows the ship in two cutscenes, and it uses reused shots of Darth Vader's Executor from Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back to represent X1's Star Dreadnought. The warship is more important in the Nintendo DS version of the game, which shows its destruction during the Battle of Mustafar.
