X1

X1, a [Force-sensitive](link url) [clone trooper](link url) derived from the genetic material of [Jedi Knight](link url) [Falon Grey](link url), served both the [Galactic Republic](link url) and subsequently the [Galactic Empire](link url) before declaring himself a [Sith Lord](link url). He and his brother, [X2](link url), were created by the [Kaminoans](link url) using Grey's [DNA](link url), and they were secretly raised on the [planet](link url) [Kamino](link url). With the onset of the [Clone Wars](link url) in [22 BBY](link url), X1 and his brother joined the [Grand Army of the Republic](link url) and participated in numerous battles, aiding in the training of [young clone troopers](link url) under the [watchful eye](link url) of [Jedi Master](link url) [Ferroda](link url). However, during a [battle](link url) on [Cato Neimoidia](link url), [Order 66](link url) was executed, compelling X1 and his brother to [eliminate](link url) Ferroda.

As the Galactic Empire gained prominence, X1 and X2 served as [stormtroopers](link url) within its [military](link url). Following a [mission](link url) to [Dantooine](link url) to assassinate a fugitive [Jedi](link url), X1 and his brother diverged in their paths. X2, unwilling to murder innocent civilians who were protecting their target, deserted the Empire and sided with the Jedi. After his brother's desertion, X1 spearheaded an assault on Dantooine. There, he killed the Jedi—who was, in fact, his genetic "[father](link url)," Falon Grey—and injured X2. Despite leaving X2 for dead, X2 survived. X1 continued his service to the Imperial Military for many [years](link url), playing a supporting role in the construction of the [first Death Star](link url) [battle station](link url) and developing his understanding of the [dark side of the Force](link url).

During the [Battle of Hoth](link url) in [3 ABY](link url), X1 commanded the [Imperial](link url)-class Star Destroyer_ [Avarice](link url)_. Aboard the [ship](link url), he encountered his brother—who had become a member of the [Rebel Alliance](link url)—[engaged in a duel](link url), and then escaped. Following the [Battle of Endor](link url) and the demise of [Emperor](link url) [Palpatine](link url) in [4 ABY](link url), X1 emerged as one of the many Imperial [warlords](link url) vying for control of the fragmented Empire. He proclaimed himself a Sith Lord and established his base of operations at [Bast Castle](link url) on [Vjun](link url), the [fortress](link url) of the deceased [Darth Vader](link url). During this [period](link url), he amassed a substantial [military force](link url), including an [Executor](link url)-class Star Dreadnought.

Consumed by power, X1 envisioned galactic domination, aiming to achieve it by creating a [personal clone army](link url). He initiated [cloning](link url) experiments on [Dathomir](link url) and the volcanic world of [Mustafar](link url), where X2, now a Jedi Knight in [Luke Skywalker's](link url) [New Jedi Order](link url), tracked him down. Skywalker went ahead to confront him, but X1 captured the Jedi, intending to utilize his genes for his clone [army](link url) of [Dark Jedi](link url). In an attempt to rescue Skywalker and defeat X1, X2 and the [New Republic](link url)—the successor state to the Rebel Alliance—launched an attack on the planet, resulting in a decisive [battle](link url). X1 dueled his brother on multiple occasions, initially on one of his [Star Destroyers](link url) and subsequently on the planet's surface. Ultimately, X1 faced his brother in a final confrontation on a [mining](link url) platform, where X2 defeated him but refused to deliver the killing blow. X1 then attempted to kill his brother by [manipulating](link url) his [lightsaber](link url) with the Force, but X2 evaded the attack, and X1 was [impaled](link url) by his own weapon, plummeting into the planet's boiling [lava](link url) to his death.

Biography

Creation

X1, together with his "brother," [X2](link url), was a [Force-sensitive](link url) [clone](link url) engineered by the [Kaminoans](link url) using the [DNA](link url) of [Jedi Knight](link url) [Falon Grey](link url). Before the [Clone Wars](link url) began, Grey—then a [Padawan](link url) under [Jedi Master](link url) [Rahm Kota](link url)—sustained severe injuries during his travels with his Master. Kota was compelled to make an emergency landing on [Kamino](link url), where the Kaminoans healed Grey but, in return, took a genetic sample without his consent. From this sample, they produced X1 and X2. X1 was the elder of the two "brothers," born an [hour](link url) earlier. The Kaminoans secretly raised them alongside [Jango Fett's](link url) clones, created at [Sifo-Dyas's](link url) request. Unaware of their true origins, X1 and X2 trained their clone brothers on Kamino.

Clone Wars

X1 as a clone trooper

The Clone Wars commenced with the [Battle of Geonosis](link url) in [22 BBY](link url). X1 and X2 became [clone troopers](link url) in the [Grand Army of the Republic](link url), fighting together on numerous [occasions](link url) during the conflict. Due to their exceptional skills, they were tasked with training [young clone troopers](link url) in combat. In [19 BBY](link url), during the war's final stages, X1 and X2 traveled to [Tatooine](link url) to oversee the training of new clone [troopers](link url) at a [training outpost](link url), accompanied by Jedi Master [Ferroda](link url). However, the initial training session was abruptly halted by the discovery of a [Confederate](link url) [recon droid](link url) within the outpost. X1 instructed his brother to destroy the [droid](link url), which X2 did. The droid was part of a larger [reconnaissance](link url) patrol, which X2 also eliminated. On X1's orders, X2 piloted a [V-wing starfighter](link url) into [space](link url) and destroyed the [transport ship](link url) that had deployed the droids.

X1 deduced that an invasion of Tatooine was imminent, and he and X2 prepared for the ensuing [battle](link url). As the Confederacy launched a full-scale attack, X1 and X2 supported [clone pilots](link url) trapped inside a [Republic](link url) [hangar](link url). The Confederacy persisted, deploying [spider walkers](link url) onto the battlefield. Lacking the heavy weaponry needed to destroy the spider droids, X1 and his brother entered a nearby [cantina](link url) and destroyed [B1-Series battle droids](link url) inside. On the other side of the cantina, X2 received a [rocket launcher](link url) from a clone, using it to take down the [walkers](link url). Meanwhile, X1 dispatched reinforcements, allowing the Republic to gain the advantage.

Following X1's instructions, X2 used an [ion cannon](link url) to disable the [shields](link url) of a Confederate [Providence-class carrier/destroyer](link url) above Tatooine. After securing the Republic hangar, X1 and his brother flew V-wings into space and [engaged](link url) [Vulture droid starfighters](link url) guarding the unshielded [ship](link url). X1 then sent X2 into the ship to sabotage its [reactor core](link url), successfully destroying the vessel. Ultimately, the Republic prevailed in the battle of Tatooine.

Order 66

X1 and X2 receive an award from Palpatine

After their exploits on Tatooine, [Supreme Chancellor](link url) [Palpatine](link url) invited X1 and X2 to [Coruscant](link url), the [galactic](link url) [capital](link url), for a special award ceremony. Palpatine presented them with medals for their bravery, initially mistaking X1 for X2. The ceremony was interrupted by a Confederate [attack](link url) on the planet. After ordering clone [troopers](link url) to escort the Chancellor to safety, X1 and X2 joined the battle, taking separate routes through Coruscant's streets. X2 tracked down Separatist [General](link url) [Grievous](link url) and injured him in combat, but failed to prevent Grievous from kidnapping the Chancellor and taking him to his [flagship](link url), the [Invisible Hand](link url).

X1 rejoined his brother, and they launched into space in [ARC-170 starfighters](link url), battling Separatist Vulture droids. Soon, Jedi Knights [Anakin Skywalker](link url) and [Obi-Wan Kenobi](link url) arrived to rescue the Chancellor, and with X2's assistance, they succeeded. As the Clone Wars neared its end, the Republic continued fighting on key worlds. X1 and X2 were dispatched to [battle](link url) alongside Ferroda on [Cato Neimoidia](link url) near the war's conclusion. X1 led clone troopers on the ground to capture [Nute Gunray's](link url) [palace](link url). X2, after fighting in space above the planet, joined the ground battle, supporting the Republic clone troopers. As the troops advanced on the citadel, X1 sent his brother to deactivate the [battle droids](link url) inside the palace.

X2 completed the task, shutting down the droids. However, a message from Coruscant was transmitted to the clones. Palpatine declared that Ferroda and all other Jedi had betrayed the Republic, ordering the clones to execute [Order 66](link url) and [kill](link url) the Jedi Master. Despite X2's reluctance, X1 forced his brother to comply, and they, along with the other clone troopers, attacked Ferroda. Although initially surprised, Ferroda fiercely resisted, wounding X1 and killing most of the clones in the [platoon](link url), leaving only X2 to fight him. Enraged by the Jedi's actions against his brother, X2 killed Ferroda.

Service to the Empire

Taking separate paths

After Order 66 and the [Great Jedi Purge](link url), Palpatine [reformed](link url) the Republic into the [Galactic Empire](link url), declaring himself [Emperor](link url). X1 and X2 became [stormtroopers](link url) in the [Imperial Military](link url), serving the Empire and gaining a reputation as two of its most trusted agents. During this time, X1 killed numerous Jedi, but noticed X2's growing unease since Order 66. Sometime between [17 BBY](link url) and [15 BBY](link url), [Darth](link url) Vader sent the brothers to [find and kill](link url) a fugitive Jedi hiding among [villagers](link url) on [Dantooine](link url). X2 hesitated, but X1 ordered him to proceed.

The brothers, with other troopers, took ARC-170 [starfighters](link url) to Dantooine's surface. X1 ordered his troopers to enter the [atmosphere](link url) and destroy the [village](link url) where the Jedi was hiding. X2 refused, arguing the villagers were innocent, but X1 insisted they deserved death for harboring a Jedi. X2 continued to argue, and X1 ordered [Zeta Squadron](link url) to escort his brother back to their [carrier](link url) ship. X1's commands angered X2, and he defected from the Empire.

X1 duels Falon Grey on Dantooine.

Enraged by his brother's betrayal, X1 ordered the stormtroopers in the [squadron](link url) to kill X2, but X2 defeated them. X2 reached the planet surface and met Falon Grey, Vader's target and the brothers' genetic [father](link url). X2 helped Grey fight off initial Imperial attacks, assisting villagers in reaching a secret hangar with a [LAAT/i gunship](link url) to escape. X1 arrived with stormtroopers aboard [gunships](link url), killing the villagers and wounding X2. Grey [repulsed](link url) X1's stormtroopers, and X1, armed with a [force pike](link url), [dueled](link url) his father.

X1 was soon at Grey's mercy, but the Jedi spared him, returning his force pike, believing X1 could be redeemed. X1 seized the opportunity to strike back, taking Grey's [lightsaber](link url), cutting X2, and shooting Grey in the back with his [blaster](link url). Leaving Grey and X2 to die, X1 and his stormtroopers left the planet. Unbeknownst to X1, X2 survived, [healed](link url) by Grey before the Jedi's death.

The early Galactic Civil War

With his brother gone, X1 rose in the Imperial Military, serving during the [Galactic Civil War](link url) against the [Alliance to Restore the Republic](link url). Between [2 BBY](link url) and [0 BBY](link url), X1 oversaw [Desolation Station](link url), an [asteroid](link url) facility in the [Atrivis sector](link url) using [slave](link url) labor to produce [superlaser](link url) components for the [Death Star](link url). The final component, the [tributary beam](link url), was completed and to be delivered to the [Death Star](link url) over [Despayre](link url).

However, a Rebel [saboteur](link url) [hijacked](link url) the [transport](link url) carrying the beam, destroying Desolation Station. The [station's](link url) [commander](link url) survived and reported to X1, who ordered his execution. Unbeknownst to X1, the Rebel saboteur was X2, who had joined the Rebel Alliance. When a replacement beam was commissioned, X1 reported it in a [holorecording](link url) to the Death Star.

X2, aboard the Death Star on a [reconnaissance mission](link url), witnessed this record and learned X1 was alive. The Death Star was later destroyed during the [Battle of Yavin](link url), but X1 continued to serve the Empire and developed his [Force powers](link url), becoming a [Dark Side Adept](link url). He also kept Grey's lightsaber as a trophy, eventually learning to use it.

X1 duels his brother during the Battle of Hoth.

In [3 ABY](link url), X1 participated in the [Battle of Hoth](link url), commanding the [Imperial-class Star Destroyer](link url) Avarice in [orbit](link url) around the [ice](link url) planet. X2, after helping the Rebels escape [Hoth](link url), boarded the Avarice with [Grey Squadron](link url) to destroy the ship. X1 [sensed](link url) his brother's presence, surprised as he believed he had killed X2 decades earlier. Ambushing his brother, X1 used telekinesis and [Force lightning](link url) and brandished Grey's lightsaber.

The brothers dueled, and X1 offered X2 a chance to return to the Empire, but X2 declined and defeated X1. When Grey Squadron used [Class-A thermal detonators](link url) to damage the Avarice's [engines](link url), explosions rocked the ship. X1 [Force](link url)-pushed his brother away and escaped, promising to kill X2. X2 also escaped before the Avarice was destroyed. A [year later](link url), the Empire suffered a major defeat at the [Battle of Endor](link url), and Palpatine and Darth Vader were killed. X1 began to dream of creating [his own Empire](link url).

Sith Lord

X1 as a Sith Lord

In pursuit of his aspirations, X1 brought together a fleet composed of Imperial-class Star Destroyers in addition to his personal Executor-class Star Dreadnought. Serving under X1's direction were also veteran CIS battle droids, a large number of stormtroopers, Imperial officers, dark troopers, and members of the Emperor's Royal Guard. X1 also had access to TX-130T fighter tanks, AT-STs, and AATs. X1's starfighter wing was made up of TIE Fighters, TIE Bombers, Vulture droids, and even the expensive TIE Defenders. The TIE Advanced x1, a model similar to Darth Vader's own, was the starfighter X1 preferred to use. Furthermore, X1 constructed a base on Dathomir, where he proceeded to perform cloning experiments.

However, he eventually abandoned the installation, leaving behind a substantial force of soldiers. The native Nightsisters of the planet then overwhelmed X1's base. During the conflict between X1's forces and the Nightsisters, Grey Squadron, with X2 as its leader, arrived on the planet, intending to capture X1. X2 was successful in defeating the Nightsisters, although his squadron suffered significant losses as a result of one of X1's subordinates. Simultaneously, X1 declared himself to be a Sith Lord and resolved to uncover the secrets of the dark side of the Force. To achieve this goal, he journeyed to Vjun and took over Bast Castle, which formerly belonged to Darth Vader, who was now deceased. Inside Bast Castle, X1 kept Grey's lightsaber, having switched to a red-bladed weapon. X1 also generated a holocron, which he used to store private information.

As he prepared to put his plans for galactic dominance into action, X1 took his fleet to the volcanic planet of Mustafar, where he established another cloning laboratory with the goal of creating his own clone army. He quickly produced a powerful force of cloned Wookiee warriors. However, X2 soon raided X1's base on Vjun, recovering Grey's lightsaber and the holocron and learning of X1's current whereabouts. At some point between 11 ABY and 19 ABY, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker traveled to Mustafar to confront X1, but X1 was able to capture him, intending to use Skywalker as the prime clone for an entire army of Dark Jedi.

Showdown on Mustafar

X2 and his soldiers soon made their way to Mustafar in order to save Skywalker and defeat X1. A battle commenced when X1's fleet came under attack from the forces of the New Republic, the galactic government that succeeded the Rebel Alliance. X2 boarded one of X1's Star Destroyers and destroyed the ship's reactor core. Immediately after completing this action, an enraged X1, along with several dark troopers and Royal Guards, entered the reactor control room and engaged X2 in a duel. When X2 gained the advantage, X1 retreated to his TIE Advanced. X2 pursued him, and the two brothers engaged in a dogfight. After sustaining some damage, X1 escaped to the planet's surface and deployed a swarm of TIE Defenders to cover his escape. Throughout this, X1 persistently tried to goad X2 into surrendering to his anger, attempting to persuade his brother to join the dark side.

X2 defeated the TIE Defenders and joined the ground battle. On the ground, X2 and his soldiers were successful in capturing an ion cannon control bunker, which caused the battle to turn in favor of the New Republic and forced X1 to attempt to attack his brother from a distance. He sent stormtroopers, as well as dark troopers and hovertanks, which X2 also defeated before advancing to the cloning laboratory. X1 ambushed X2 and initiated another brief duel with him. X1 quickly dismissed his brother as an unworthy adversary and retreated, but not before unleashing his Wookiee clones to fight X2. X1 waited for his brother in the ion cannon control room, supported by more Emperor's Royal Guards. After X2 killed the Wookiees, he reached X1's location, and the two engaged in yet another fight. Soon after, X1 escaped to a mining platform, but X2 followed him, hoping to stop his brother for good.

X1 falls to his death.

When X2 arrived on the platform, the brothers' final duel began. The two fought with lightsabers and various Force abilities, but, in the end, X2 was able to overpower X1. X1 conceded defeat and asked his brother to kill him, but X2 adhered to the Jedi Code and refused to do so, planning to send his brother to Kessel Prison. Then, as a final act, X1 used the Force to levitate his fallen lightsaber and throw it at X2, attempting to kill him. However, the latter jumped over the lightsaber, which caused X1 to be impaled by his own weapon. With the lightsaber falling out of his chest, X1 stepped back over the platform's edge and fell into a lava river, resulting in his death. His army was defeated, and Skywalker was rescued, earning X2 a promotion to Jedi Master. With the victory of X2 and the New Republic, X1's aspirations of galactic conquest came to an end.

Personality and characteristics

X1 received military training from birth on Kamino, and he acquired exceptional leadership skills, which Palpatine acknowledged during the award ceremony on Coruscant. X1 had great respect for the Supreme Chancellor and was confident that he would meet him one day. During the Clone Wars, X1 believed that the Jedi's pacifist views hindered the war effort, and he argued that the Jedi should fully utilize their power instead of depending on clone troopers to fight for them. It was during the war that he began to consider an army of cloned Jedi, jokingly suggesting to X2 that this was the ideal way to govern the galaxy.

The relationship between X1 and X2 had a profound impact on both of their lives. While the two initially had very similar personalities, X1 gradually developed a desire for power, often acting authoritatively toward his brother. In contrast to X2, X1 was more willing to take risks to achieve his goals. Because X1 was born an hour earlier than X2, he referred to X2 as "little brother" and continued to use this term even during their confrontation on Mustafar.

X1 and X2, during the Clone Wars

After the rise of the Empire, X1 became increasingly violent and power-hungry. He strongly supported the New Order, developed strong anti-Jedi sentiment, and took pride in the murders he committed on behalf of the Emperor. X1 believed that the most effective way to achieve peace with one's enemies was to eliminate them. During the battle on Dantooine, X1 was prepared to kill innocent people if necessary to enforce the Emperor's will, and he murdered Grey after the latter refused to kill him. Later, X1 killed the commander of Desolation Station in cold blood after he failed to prevent the station's destruction. X1 was a hypocrite, a fact that he himself acknowledged. He was also egotistical, as evidenced by the large picture of himself standing over a defeated beast in his office on Dathomir.

X1 was a devoted servant of the Empire during its peak, but after the Battle of Endor, he went on to establish his own empire as a Sith Lord, dreaming of galactic domination. Observing a large number of stormtroopers guarding X1's base on Dathomir, X2 concluded that his brother had become paranoid. As he explored his Force-sensitivity, X1 developed a strong interest in the dark side, desiring to learn its secrets and traveling to Vjun for this purpose. X1 originally had light skin, brown hair, and eyes. After proclaiming himself a Sith, X1 shaved his head and tattooed it, while his eyes began to glow red as a result of his corruption by the dark side. He thrived on anger, which enhanced his Force abilities. As a Sith Lord, he was also fascinated by chaos and believed that the galaxy should resemble the turbulent lava fields of Mustafar.

Powers and capabilities

Having been raised as an elite clone trooper, X1, like his brother, acquired fighting and leadership skills for use on the battlefield. He and X2 frequently commanded groups of soldiers in battle, and X1 developed strategies to lead the Republic to victory. In combat, X1 demonstrated proficiency in the use of various weapons. He was a skilled pilot capable of operating a variety of starfighters. As a Force-sensitive individual, X1 possessed skill in various Force powers. Although he was initially unaware of his origins, X1 had become a Dark Side Adept by the time of the Galactic Civil War.

X1 uses his lightsaber to duel his brother.

He developed some skill in various forms of telekinesis, as well as in Force lightning, which he employed in his duel with X2 over Hoth. He was also capable of shielding himself from attacks for a limited time. X1 possessed a developed Force sense ability, allowing him to sense his brother's presence on the Avarice and later detect a hint of anger in X2 during the battle on Mustafar.

After becoming a Sith Lord, X1 studied numerous dark side secrets and created his own holocron. He also learned the process of cloning, intending to use this knowledge to create his own army. X1 demonstrated proficiency with melee weapons, managing to withstand Grey's attacks for some time while armed only with a force pike. He practiced Dun Möch, taunting X2 during their duels. X1 was also a quick learner. He learned to wield Grey's lightsaber despite having no prior experience with such a weapon, and he was able to develop the skill of throwing his lightsaber with the Force. However, this ultimately backfired during his final duel with X2, as the weapon returned and impaled X1 when the latter jumped over X1's blade, resulting in his death.

Gear

X1's Sith lightsaber

X1 demonstrated his ability to effectively use various weapons in combat situations. During the Clone Wars, he used a blaster rifle and a shotgun, as well as grenades. X1 was also skilled with melee weapons and used a force pike to defend against an attack by Falon Grey. Following the events on Dantooine, X1 fought with a lightsaber. His initial weapon was the one taken from Grey during the attack. He later switched to a red-bladed lightsaber.

X1 also piloted various starfighters throughout his combat experience. During the Clone Wars, he used V-wings and ARC-170s. He also piloted TIE Fighters and the TIE Advanced x1 craft during the Galactic Civil War. In addition to combat equipment and spacecraft, X1 possessed a holocron that he created after declaring himself a Sith. This custom-made item contained information regarding his plans and location.

Behind the scenes information

X1 is the main antagonist in Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron.

X1, along with X2, made his only appearance in the 2009 video game Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron, which was released for the PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo DS and was developed by Rebellion Developments and N-space, respectively. X1's role changes as the storyline progresses during the game's campaign, in which the player controls X2. In the Clone Wars missions, X1 acts as a comrade and mentor to the player, providing instructions and assistance in battle. X1 becomes the antagonist in the game during the mission to Dantooine. X1 is largely absent during the early Galactic Civil War missions, but the player duels him on the Avarice during the Battle of Hoth mission. The plotline in the final missions focuses on X2 tracking X1 down to Mustafar, culminating in the final duel between the two brothers.

X1 is a playable character in the PSP version's Instant Action mode of the game, which does not have a specific storyline. He is available in three skins, depending on the era and planet selected by the player. Clone trooper X1 is available on Hoth, Imperial X1 is available on Coruscant and Kashyyyk, and Sith Lord X1 is available on Hoth, Dantooine, as well as on Yavin 4 and Kashyyyk, although only in the Heroes and Villains mode.

Free Radical Design, a development company that had been working on the Star Wars: Battlefront III video game before its cancellation, leaked unfinished material indicating that X1 and X2 were originally intended to be featured in that game. The storyline presented in the revealed material for Battlefront III shares significant similarities with the final version featured in Elite Squadron.

Differences between versions of Elite Squadron

Due to the game's release on two handheld platforms, some missions are present in one version but not in the other. Furthermore, there are numerous variations in how the missions are presented in both versions. This article incorporates elements from both versions unless they directly contradict each other. In cases of contradiction, as there has been no official statement on which version is more canonical, the article addresses each inconsistency on a case-by-case basis to create a cohesive storyline, selecting the version that emphasizes X1 more and fits better story-wise between the events immediately preceding and following the mission in question. The alternative portrayals of the contradictory events are noted below and may potentially be the canonical versions.

For example, the Battle of Tatooine is described in this article based on the PSP mission. While X1 and X2 train troopers in the PSP mission, they oversee the construction of an outpost in the Nintendo DS version. The two are engaged in working at the outpost when the Separatist attack begins, and the brothers are initially caught off guard. They receive a distress call from Ferroda, proceed to an invaded Republic garrison, and clear it of droids. They then take BARC speeders to another base across the desert and rendezvous with Ferroda. Alongside the Jedi, X1 and X2 advance to the Republic hangar and take ARC-170s into space. There, X2 infiltrates a Lucrehulk-class battleship instead of a Providence-class destroyer.

Additionally, the PSP version asserts that Tatooine was an "early" victory for the Republic, while the Nintendo DS version explicitly provides the date of 19 BBY. The Battle of Coruscant is described here as it is depicted in the Nintendo DS version, as Palpatine's award ceremony is absent in the PSP version. In the latter edition, X1 has a very minor role and only participates in the space battle, flying an ARC-170 starfighter.

This article uses the PSP version's storyline to describe the Battle of Cato Neimoidia. The Nintendo DS version states that months have passed between the Battle of Coruscant and the brothers' assignment to Cato Neimoidia, while the canonical elapsed time is much shorter. Cato Neimoidia is also protected by an energy shield, which X1 and X2 disable by destroying several orbital satellites before proceeding with the ground assault.

X1's Super Star Destroyer is destroyed on Mustafar in the Nintendo DS version of Elite Squadron.

During the battle on Dantooine in the Nintendo DS version, after Grey defeats him, X1 pretends to admit his mistakes and express regret for his past actions. When Grey turns his back on him, X1 stabs him in the back with the force pike, instead of killing him with a blaster shot as depicted in the PSP version. The Battle of Hoth follows the Nintendo DS portrayal in this article. In the PSP version, X1 uses a blaster rifle instead of Grey's lightsaber. Furthermore, the destruction of the Avarice is not clearly shown.

The battle on Mustafar is presented here as it is in the PSP version. In the DS version, all references to the clone army are removed, and X1's reason for capturing Skywalker is not specified. Instead, X1 uses reactivated Confederate battle droids that remained on the planet after the Clone Wars. Another discrepancy is that Mustafar is protected by an energy shield, forcing X2 to crash X1's Executor-class Star Dreadnought into the shield to penetrate it and reach the planet's surface.
