Yataga sector

The Yataga sector existed as a part of the Expansion Region. Within its boundaries was the planet called Adner, which served as the homeworld for the sentient Adnerem species. Adner's discovery occurred 5,000 years prior to the Galactic Civil War. Eventually, Adner was transformed into a world dedicated to entertainment and pleasure. The largest casino on this planet, known as The Red Lisken, was owned by the Adnerem named Etsero. By 4 ABY, Etsero learned that his debt to the late Hutt crime lord Jabba had been transferred to an unnamed entity allied with the fractured Galactic Empire. Consequently, The Red Lisken was then used to facilitate the laundering of credits for Imperial interests within the Yataga sector.

Description

The Trailing Sectors region of the Expansion Region contained the Yataga sector. By the time of 0 ABY, the Yataga sector shared borders with the Hythrope and Jurzan sectors towards the Coreward direction, the Kira sector towards the spinward direction, and the Woostri sector in the trailing direction. The Yataga sector, along with the Kira and Woostri sectors, established the Rimward boundary of the Expansion Region, bordering the Var Hagen sector of the Mid Rim. The Adner system was located within the Yataga sector.

History

Following the 4 ABY death of crime lord Jabba the Hutt, Etsero, the Adnerem proprietor of the largest casino on the planet Adner within the Yataga sector, discovered that his debt to the Hutt had been reassigned to an unidentified party aligned with the splintered Galactic Empire. During this time, Etsero's casino, The Red Lisken, became a tool for laundering credits to benefit Imperial operations in the Yataga sector.

In 7 ABY, the New Republic deployed an agent to Adner to bring an end to the criminal activities taking place in The Red Lisken. However, this agent failed to report back to his superiors and was presumed to have been eliminated by Etsero. Subsequently, New Republic General Airen Cracken mentioned the Imperial-supported criminal enterprises in the Yataga sector within Wanted by Cracken, a datafile that compiled reports on various threats facing the New Republic.

Locations

The Adner system, situated within the Yataga sector, contained the terrestrial planet Adner. It was originally the homeworld of the sentient, humanoid Adnerem species. A Duros scout discovered Adner 5,000 years before the Galactic Civil War. Three millennia later, the Adnerem transformed their planet into a renowned destination for entertainment and pleasure.

Behind the scenes

The sector that included Adner was first indirectly referenced in the 1993 sourcebook titled Wanted by Cracken, authored by Louis J. Prosperi for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. Later, in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, the sector was identified as the Yataga sector. In 2012, the sector was visualized on a map created by Modi and published in the Online Companion feature "Essential Atlas Extra: Expansion Region."
