The position of yellow-rated constable represented a specific level within the Sullustan Constable Brigade, which served as the law enforcement branch for the SoroSuub Corporation, the governing body of the Outer Rim Territories planet Sullust. Similar to orange-rated constables, those holding the yellow-rated constable rank operated as patrol officers, possessing a greater level of experience compared to both infrared- and red-rated constables. Mirroring the naming convention used for the other eight ranks in the brigade, the term "yellow-rated constable" was derived from a color found in the visible light spectrum.
The title of yellow-rated constable first appeared in the Strongholds of Resistance sourcebook for Star Wars Roleplaying, released in 2015 by Fantasy Flight Games as a supplement for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game.
