YIN-762

YIN-762 was a B1 battle droid functioning as a commander within the Droid Army belonging to the Trade Federation. Back in 32 BBY, during the invasion of the planet Naboo by the Trade Federation, YIN-762 held authority over a base situated outside the city of Spinnaker.

During the course of the invasion of Spinnaker, OOM-9, a command battle droid, dispatched Neimoidian traders using a type of repulsorcraft from his base to the spaceport located within YIN-762's base. Their mission was to exchange goods for nova crystals, which were intended for use as currency. OOM-9 successfully fulfilled the objective set by Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray – the acquisition of 10,000 nova crystals – by conducting trade with the base and incapacitating Spinnaker's spaceports.

Similar to other B1-Series battle droids, YIN-762 had a height of 1.91 meters and incorporated masculine programming. It was armed with an E-5 blaster rifle and carried a backpack equipped with an antenna. The droid featured light tan plating, complemented by brown markings.

Behind the scenes

YIN-762 initially made an appearance in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, a video game created by LucasArts in 2001. In the third level of the Trade Federation campaign titled "Spinnaker's Spoils," its name is identified as the player's ally, even though it doesn't physically manifest in the level. Furthermore, YIN-762 serves as a unique unit that players can utilize within the game's scenario editor. The profile image and model of the droid are the same as those of other battle droid commanders featured in the game. In scenarios, the model of YIN-762 exhibits differences from its profile image, with the tan color present on other B1-Series battle droids appearing on its head and portions of its limbs, while the color corresponding to the player's alignment is displayed on its chest and legs.
