YIN-762's base

This installation, constructed on the planet of Naboo in 32 BBY, was under the base command of YIN-762, a B1-series battle droid belonging to the Trade Federation Droid Army. The base's infrastructure consisted of a command center, a shipyard for aquatic vessels, a spaceport, several turrets, and processing facilities designed to handle the resources found both within and around the base. During the invasion of Spinnaker, a nearby city, by the Trade Federation, the battle droid OOM-9 dispatched Neimoidian traders to YIN-762's location with the aim of trading for valuable nova crystals.

Description

The Trade Federation established a base on the planet of Naboo. YIN-762, a B1 battle droid, was in command of the base, which also had four OX9 labor droids that were responsible for gathering foodstuff from man-made farms and extracting carbon from the local trees. This base was situated close to the southeastern area of Spinnaker, a city inhabited by the Naboo, and to the northeast of an unidentified village also on Naboo. The base was surrounded by trees and had only one entrance, located on its northwest side.

YIN-762's base was located near the city Spinnaker (pictured).

A light turret defended the entrance, which also housed a nova processing center utilized for the storage of nova crystals acquired from nearby deposits. A command center served as the base's control hub, positioned next to two farms, a food processing center, a power core, and a spaceport. A river bordered the base on its southwestern side, and on this river was an aquatic shipyard protected by a light turret. The northern section of the base contained an anti-air turret and a carbon processing center. The northeastern portion featured an animal nursery, an additional light turret, and an ore processing center located in proximity to several ore deposits.

History

During the Invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation in 32 BBY, the base was established. As part of the preparations to invade Spinnaker, OOM-9, a B1 battle droid, took control of the village near Spinnaker, from where he gathered Neimoidian traders and a type of repulsorcraft in order to trade nova crystals with the spaceport located at YIN-762's base. By doing this, OOM-9 was able to help Nute Gunray's, the Trade Federation Viceroy, achieve his objective of acquiring 10,000 nova crystals during the Spinnaker invasion.

Behind the scenes

LucasArts created YIN-762's base for the video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, which was launched on November 11, 2001. The base was first mentioned in Steven L. Kent's strategy guide for Prima Games, which was released four days prior to the game's release. The base was featured in the third level of the Trade Federation campaign, titled "Spinnaker's Spoils."
