Yresilini

The Yresilini were a species originating from the Unknown Regions within the galaxy. This species, possessing at least one masculine gender and capable of laughter, were considered incapable of being trained by the Chiss.

Before the Clone Wars commenced in 22 BBY with the outbreak, a professor at the Chiss Academy tasked a young student, Sev'rance Tann, with the challenge of forming an army from a group of Yresilini. Tann began this task by choosing one individual Yresilini to serve as a general, and then attempted to instruct him in various commands. The general's response was to laugh at Tann, which caused the other Yresilini to laugh along with him. Tann then had the general executed in front of his troops, and subsequently selected a successor, who successfully led the Yresilini to follow her instructions perfectly. Tann then received high praise from her professor and continued her military career, with the story of her successfully controlling the Yresilini being passed down amongst the soldiers serving under her command.
