Yarvok, a Nova Blades pirates officer, owned a Skar'kla named Yug. He personally raised Yug, similar to how he raised his other two Skar'kla pets, Rox and Wa-Vendeg. After a starship carrying Yarvok's pets crashed on the world of Dantooine, Krupo, who was Yarvok's beast wrangler, lost Yug and other pets, which made Yarvok extremely angry. Yarvok threatened to kill Krupo if he didn't locate his missing pets, including Yug, very quickly.
When the Commander came to Dantooine to look into reports of Darth Malgus at the Jedi Enclave, Yug was spotted close to the Enclave's entrance along with some of Yarvok's other missing pets, Fuzzy and Ol' Cronchy. Yug particularly liked Rishi honeystix that were located in the crash-landed shipment of cryo crates nearby.
Yug was featured in the Secrets of the Enclave flashpoint and received a mention in the Codex entry titled Invasive Species on Dantooine within the Onslaught expansion from 2019 for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic from 2011 by BioWare.
