Zaarin's fleet

Zaarin's fleet was a military force comprised of former Imperial Navy vessels, serving as the government's armed forces under the rogue Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin. Initially a part of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Military, this fleet sided with Zaarin following his act of treachery and participated in his insurrection. They clashed with Imperial loyalist forces, particularly those commanded by Thrawn and Darth Vader. Zaarin's control of advanced TIE Series fighter development gave his fleet a technological edge. Despite this advantage, the fleet's efforts ended in defeat.

The fleet's composition included a variety of vessels, from Imperial-class Star Destroyers to Delta-class DX-9 stormtrooper transports, indicating its substantial size. TIE/D Defenders and TIE/ad starfighters were among the primary starfighters used. A complement of stormtroopers provided ground-based combat capabilities. Following the Battle of Ottega, almost every unit within the fleet had a "Z-" prefix added to its designation, signifying its affiliation (for instance, Z-Beta Squadron).
