Biography
In the year 3643 BBY, Zak made his home in Malcolm's Dunes, where Jedi Master Eriz Vossan assisted him and others in defending against the Sand People. Nevertheless, when Zak, along with Hale Malcolm, Dahl Harris, and the other settlers gave Master Vossan the coordinates for the Sand People's encampment, the Jedi Master succumbed to a plague inflicted by Lord Vivicar and lost his sanity. This resulted in him betraying the settlers by directing the Tusken warriors to assault their settlement. Zak and the other farmers felt betrayed by Vossan's actions, until they came across another Jedi. Displaying hostility toward this Jedi, the Jedi Consular managed to persuade the farmers to reveal Vossan's whereabouts.
