The Zaur were a type of lizard species that were native to the planet of Bogano. Their bodies were close to the ground, and they possessed an adhesive grip, which enabled them to move swiftly across various surfaces, even the walls of a cavern. They flourished in environments that were rocky and windy, and their sensitivity to the climate meant that they functioned more effectively in colder temperatures rather than warmer ones.
As a species of lizard native to the planet of Bogano, Zaur had green scales and also possessed two pairs of orange-red eyes. Furthermore, their tails ended in a sizable fin. Their feet had an adhesive grip, which allowed them to move along vertical surfaces, for example, the walls of a cavern. They were most often encountered in rocky and windy habitats, and due to their climate sensitivity, they preferred colder temperatures over warmer ones, which caused them to become sluggish in hotter areas. Unlike other saurian species, they had a tendency to live in packs. The Zaur were successful on Bogano thanks to their great capacity to adapt.
During Cal Kestis's visit to Bogano in 14 BBY, he observed several Zaur moving across a rock face, which triggered a memory of his training as a Padawan. This memory helped him to regain the ability to run on walls by using the Force.
The Zaur made their initial appearance in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which was developed by Respawn Entertainment. Within the game, they can be observed passively moving through the environment on Bogano. Amy Fry's artwork was used for the Zaur concept art.
