The 45th Infantry Division represented a component of the Republic Infantry division within the Republic Military. In the course of the Great Galactic War, which pitted the Republic against the re-emerging Sith Empire, Elin Garza was elevated to the rank of Lieutenant and subsequently placed in charge of a platoon from the 45th. In 3673 BBY, this platoon experienced a crash landing on Bomodon. The platoon, guided by her leadership, engaged in a ten-month guerrilla campaign that led to the liberation of the planet from Imperial forces. The 45th Infantry remained in service to the Republic Military until at least 3643 BBY, at which point it was positioned on Ord Mantell.
