6-POC was a LOM-series protocol droid functioning for a project manager within the GeneTech Syndicate during the Galactic Civil War's era in galactic history. Subsequent to the Battle of Yavin, 6-POC's operational area was the GeneTech Syndicate Lab, situated in proximity to the Dearic metropolis on the Talus binary planet. Following a disastrous containment failure involving aggressive, genetically modified arachnid entities that resulted in the demise of his superior and the other researchers at the lab, 6-POC reluctantly shared a confidential access code with a traveler. This action enabled the deletion of classified data pertaining to the perilous Parasophic Arachne initiative.
During the Galactic Civil War, a LOM-series protocol droid, designated 6-POC, was in service to the GeneTech Syndicate. He was stationed at the GeneTech Syndicate Lab, which was located just outside the Dearic urban center on the Talus twin planet. After the Battle of Yavin which occurred in 0 BBY, the GeneTech Syndicate engaged in an extremely illegal and hazardous bioengineering project at the GeneTech Syndicate Lab. This project was known as the Parasophic Arachne program. The goal of the project was to engineer a highly intelligent and powerful species of arachnids for utilization by the Galactic Empire.

After the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY, Agent Taarna of the Corellian Security Force sent a spacefarer to investigate the GeneTech Lab near Dearic. During the investigation, Taarna realized that illegal genetic experimentation on animals was occurring. This involved the creation of numerous, incredibly large arachnid creatures that escaped containment and took over the entire facility. Considering the lab a threat to the entire planet of Talus, Taarna instructed the spacefarer to complete several objectives to sabotage it. One of these objectives was to delete all information about the Parasophic Arachne project from multiple computer terminals. However, a very complex encryption system prevented the spacefarer from successfully hacking into one of the terminals belonging to the laboratory's project manager.
However, the project manager's protocol droid, 6-POC, knew the password. Initially, 6-POC was hesitant to reveal it. It was only after the spacefarer explained that his master had been killed by the ferocious creatures that 6-POC began to reconsider. Fearing isolation in a world destroyed by the GeneTech Lab's creatures, 6-POC finally told the spacefarer that the entry code to his master's terminal was "zerek species." The spacefarer praised the droid for his service to his master and then deleted the sensitive information from the project manager's computer, as well as from five other terminals throughout the facility.
6-POC had silver hued plating and black and silver optical receptors. Loyal and committed, the droid was from a product line manufactured by Industrial Automaton and equipped with AA-1 VerboBrains. Although initially reluctant to share his master's private terminal password, 6-POC ultimately relented when it became clear that his master was dead and that the entire population of Talus could be wiped out by violent creatures. Capable of independent thought and fearing loneliness, 6-POC understood that giving the spacefarer his password was what his master would have wanted.
6-POC was a non-player character featured in the 2003 Star Wars Galaxies electronic game, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts, before its termination on December 15, 2011. He was incorporated into the game as part of the extensive Legacy Quest series with the launch of "Chapter 2: The Talus Incident" on August 1, 2006. Within the game, players who accepted the "Genocide" quest from CorSec agent Taarna were tasked with investigating the GeneTech Syndicate Lab on Talus. One of the sub-quests, titled "A Better Life Through Genetics," required players to erase data from six terminals, one of which required the player to interact with 6-POC to obtain a password. While players could opt out of these quests, this article assumes complete game progression.
