ARC trooper armor was a type of clone trooper armor used by Advanced Recon Commandos, also known as ARC troopers, during the Clone Wars. For some time, ARC trooper armor consisted of the Phase I ARC Trooper Armor, one version of which had a helmet identical to the standard phase I clone trooper armor. Another version of the phase I kit, however, featured a unique helmet design; that helmet retained the the sides, back, and fin of the standard phase I helmet, but the front resembled the face of the eventual phase II clone trooper armor helmet, albeit but with a more triangular structure. Both versions of the Phase I set featured additional gray armor plating compared to the average clone, a double pauldron, additional equipment, a kama, a rangefinder, ammunition pouches, a backpack, and two holsters.
ARC trooper armor was the basis for the phase II clone trooper armor that became standard issue to all clone troopers in the later days of the Clone Wars. As standard clone troopers shifted into their new armor, ARC troopers also transitioned into a new set of gear, the Phase II ARC Trooper Armor, which closely resembled the baseline clone armor.
Several Advanced Recon Commandos from Rancor Battalion used ARC trooper armor, including Clone Commander Colt, Clone Commander Havoc, Clone Commander Blitz, and Clone Commander Hammer. ARC troopers Fives and Echo wore Phase I ARC armor after their promotions, with Fives later transitioning to Phase II. As an ARC trooper, Jesse used ARC armor by the Battle of Anaxes.
Before an update, the video game Star Wars Battlefront II incorrectly depicted/labeled Phase I ARC trooper armor as Phase II.
