A bio-cast or biocast was a type of medical technology used to heal broken bones. In 34 ABY, the Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono insisted on treating the child Eila's broken leg with a bio-cast. However, her brother, Kel, instead pursued a herbal remedy.
The bio-cast was first mentioned in "The Children from Tehar," the sixth episode of the first season of the Star Wars Resistance animated television series which premiered on November 4, 2018. It was later identified as "biocast" in the article "Bacta Basis: Medical Care in the Star Wars Galaxy," which was written by Amy Ratcliffe and published in the 190th issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine on June 12, 2019.
