Dryden Vos's petars were the custom made Kyuzo petars commissioned by Dryden Vos.
A double-bladed dagger-like melee weapon, the petars were designed by the Kyuzo for Dryden Vos, the leader of Crimson Dawn. Cast in bronzium, the weapons featured a conductive tempered carbon edge that became energized with a monomolecular laser sheath with the flick of a switch. This vastly increased the cutting power and deadliness of the weapon. Powering this deadly edge were rechargeable energy cells sealed within the hilt of the weapon. The blades were styled to fit Vos's near-human hands, including a hole for his sharpened thumb claws. The petars were weighted to perfectly suit Vos's particular style of combat, which incorporated the martial art known as Teräs Käsi.
Ten years prior to the Battle of Yavin, during a party aboard his personal yacht, the First Light, Dryden Vos used one of his petars to murder Governor Diles Anevi who had angered the crime lord during negotiations over a deal that would waive travel restrictions on Crimson Dawn starships moving along the Great Gran Run hyperspace route.
When he was later betrayed by his lieutenant, Qi'ra, and Han Solo, Vos attempted to kill the smuggler with his petars, throwing one which became embedded in the wall. He was then forced to defend himself with the remaining blade when Q'ira attacked him with a vibrocutlass. Vos used the energized blade to cut into the sword, causing the petar to become stuck. Without a weapon, Vos was then impaled and killed by his former protégé.
