A group of Resistance recruits and Lieutenant Bek once fled a destroyer in SREVs following their ship's capture after leaving Batuu. They escaped during a battle between First Order forces and Resistance ships led by Poe Dameron. The pods made a rough landing back at the Resistance base in the ancient ruins on Batuu.
The First Order Short-Range Evacuation Vehicle first appeared in the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction, where it utilizes two different ride systems to create the attraction's finale in the form of a motion simulator base inside of a freefall drop elevator. The Fleet Transport that guests are riding in parks itself inside the elevator and drops to return to the first floor, after which the flight simulator goes into motion to create the action for the return to Batuu. The vehicles resemble an Imperial escape pod seen in the 2017 video game Star Wars Battlefront II.
