An irisophant was a creature with bones strong enough to withstand the claws of the Evereni species. Around 381 BBY, the Evereni pirate gang leader Marda Ro bought a nail file made from the bone of an irisophant from a child operating out of a stand on the side of a road in a settlement on the planet Dantooine. The file was strong enough for her to use it for her nails. Ro later documented buying the file, including a mention of an irisophant, in a journal recorded for posterity that was passed down to her descendants Shalla Ro and Marchion Ro and listened to by them by 252 BBY.
