Development

The initial concept for a nine-book series arose in 2004, and it was planned to be set within the Old Republic era. The specific timeframe within the Old Republic era remains unknown; however, on May 21, 2004, Sue Rostoni made the following statement on the forums of StarWars.com:

Continuity

Star Wars: Legacy of the Force marked the reappearance of numerous characters, originating from both the EU and the films, who had been largely absent from EU literature for a considerable period. Most notably, the Dark Lady of the Sith, Lumiya, made her first novel appearance in Betrayal, while Boba Fett, who was last seen briefly in The Unifying Force, re-emerged onto the galactic stage in Bloodlines. Furthermore, the storylines of other characters, including Thrackan Sal-Solo, Gilad Pellaeon, and Ailyn Vel, alongside Natasi Daala, reached their conclusions within the series.
