Machook was a figure in the legends of the Ewok species who wielded a magic axe called Lumat. According to Ewok legends, Machook was a hero who build the first tree village and was convinced by the spirit Teebo not to harm the forests. Ewoks came to name their male children after the legend. An Ewok present at Bright Tree Village around the time of the Battle of Endor was named for the legend.
Machook was mentioned in the Galactic Campaign Guide, a 2003 supplement for Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game which was written by Peter Schweighofer and J.D. Wiker.
