Margengai glide

The margengai glide was a type of dance music, described as fast and jaunty. The term could also be used to describe a physical act, which could be performed by fathiers.

Around 230 BBY, the margengai glide had been popular dance music for several decades. When the starship Vessel encountered a Nihil attack in the Echerta system en route to Starlight Beacon, pilot Leox Gyasi played margengai glide over the comm channels in order to distract the pirates and allow civilian ships to escape. Jedi Master Elzar Mann, a passenger aboard the transport, considered it the least appropriate music imaginable for a space battle. Gyasi considered the glide one of his favorite tunes, and continued playing the music after the Vessel escaped into hyperspace.

Later, the fathier Murro was described as being able to perform the margengai glide poorly in preliminary advertisements for Vontor's Eve engagements at the Grakkus Arena presented to Grakkus the Hutt by Toren.

The margengai glide was first mentioned in Star Wars canon in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide by Daniel Wallace. It first appeared in the 2022 novel The High Republic: The Fallen Star, written by Claudia Gray. In Star Wars Legends, the margengai-glide was a type of dance which first appeared in the 1998 novel Rebel Dawn, the third book in the The Han Solo Trilogy by A. C. Crispin.
