Marhas was a resident of the Outer Rim planet of Lothal, a criminal sought by the Galactic Empire. Marhas paid credits to Yahenna Laxo of the Gray Syndicate, a small crime syndicate whose importance was often exaggerated by Laxo. Those hidden by him faced the constant risk that he would sell them out if their funding ran out.
The Galactic Empire, tightening its grip on criminal activity on Lothal, hit two gambling clubs and a warehouse managed by Laxo. Worried about further repercussions, Laxo decided to have Rosey, a member of his syndicate, move Marhas, along with Apapaba, Durchine, Holshef and Kinlo to new places of safety. He told Merei Spanjaf, also of the syndicate, to pay each a visit to inform to be packed and ready, as Rosey would meet with that night.
Marhas receives a brief mention in Servants of the Empire: Imperial Justice, the third of four books of the Star Wars Rebels: Servants of the Empire quartet by Jason Fry. He is one of several individuals who, according to the title, is hidden by Laxo due to gambling debts or other self-inflicted trouble.
